Our Story
Steven and Barry out here living in the wilds of Princess Harbour, Manitoba, Canada, a small isolated community on the east shores of Lake Winnipeg, Manitoba’s largest fresh water lake. We have no year round roads into our community, so we get in and out by boat, plane or snowmobile. We are about a three hour drive from Winnipeg, Manitoba’s capital city. So we have a little trip when we need to go out for supplies or to travel to farther points of interest. We have built a small cabin home and are in the process of building a wilderness cabin retreat rental business. Our local area has much to offer for the wildlife enthusiasts and we offer day outings of boating, fishing, hiking, day beach trips for swimming, bird watching, day fishing trips and just relaxation. We are a small, intimate and private guest cabin rental business, that is out of the hustle and bustle of your hectic lives. Please take time to view the rest of the site. Our geographical location places us on the east side of Lake Winnipeg and on the edge of Canada’s Boreal Forest. A rich and wonderful wilderness area that reaches across eastern Canada to the Atlantic Ocean. It is a land filled with wildlife and ancient cultural heritage of the First Peoples of Canada. The Anishabeg , known as the Ojibwa today, lived in the Boreal Forest of eastern Canada and United States for thousands of years. Leaving use many rich wonderful signs of their existence in our forests and on our lake shores. Still a vibrant and earth based culture with a deep Spiritual connection to the land, they refer to as The Mother Earth and Turtle Island. Their past can be seen in the pictographs (rock painting) and petroforms (rock formations) and artifacts that are found every where in our area. Each cabin is self-contained, with a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen in an open concept design. They are fully equipped for short or long term stays. We also have a laundry facility available, if needed. The cabins come with everything needed for your stay, bed and bath linens, cooking utensils, basic condiments. We offer a few different options for your stay. You may bring all your own food supplies and fend for yourself; just need to be sure you bring what you think you will need, as the nearest store is well behind you. Sorry, there is no grocery store here. We have some supplies, we maybe be able to help you with anything you might have forgot. We will do our best, but we may not have it.
