I went with Tim to Chay Dalat and had fried rice with vegetables for about one dollar. The food was delicious. This is a very authentic local place with a harmonious atmosphere and definitely a great find for everyone.

Today I was talking to my friend Graham about good small Vietnamese restaurants and he pointed out one of his favorites:
"Quán Phở Gỗ" at 287 Phan Đình Phùng, Phường 2, Thành phố Đà Lạt, Lâm Đồng. I went there to eat "Hủ tiếu" and it was really good!

Bún Chả became famous around the world after US President Barack Obama stopped by Bún Chả Hương Liên restaurant in Hanoi with chef Anthony Bourdain during his trip to Vietnam in May 2016.
Bún Chả consists of grilled pork and noodles. The noodles used are a type of thin, white rice noodles. The grilled pork is served with lettuce, herbs and a dipping sauce. To make bún chả, first marinate the pork in a mixture of garlic, fish sauce, sugar and black pepper. Then fry the pork in a frying pan until browned and crispy. Cook the pasta in boiling water. Finally, assemble the dish by adding the pork, noodles, lettuce, herbs and dipping sauce.

A special place to eat bún chả in Dalat is 29.hanoi, a tiny restaurant run by a friendly and welcoming couple from Hanoi.

Hủ tiếu is a dish consisting mainly of pork bone broth, noodles and various toppings, including meat and other garnishes. The dish originated in the Guangdong province of China and has spread throughout Southeast Asia with different names and local adaptations.

Bánh bao is the name given to a relatively large dumpling containing pork or chicken, onions, eggs, mushrooms and vegetables.

"Kem Bơ Na Ri" is famous for its delicious ice creams, juices, shakes and "chè". Here is a picture of a rare moment when you can actually get a seat. My favourite is "kem trái cây", coconut ice cream with fruit. Most of the Vietnamese customers come for avocado ice cream.
