Even with all the hype, Phi Phi doesn't disappoint. It's beauty is a big chunk of the allure. The islands, when approached by boat, rise from the sea like a fortress. Sheer cliffs tower overhead, then give way to beach-fronted jungle. It's love at first sight 😍

We spent the day at Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, and can’t begin to explain what an incredible experience it’s been 🐘🐘
We feel so humbled to have had the chance to walk with the elephants through their home, make food for them and feed them, and listen to the awful stories about where and how these beautiful creatures were rescued, and how they were treated before their rescue.
It was so heartbreaking to learn that although elephant labour is banned in Thailand, it is still happening in many places, and once you own an elephant, he is your property to treat as you wish. The elephants here have been rescued from the circus, from riding camps, and from labour camps, and many of them have life long injuries from their past lives. To rescue these elephants, the sanctuary have to actually pay their owners to buy the elephant, even when old or injured. The government won’t support their cause because they see it as going against their culture and traditions, as the royal family still ride elephants.
We would absolutely recommend Elephant Nature Park as a place to not only learn about the elephants but to support the cause of giving these gentle giants a better life. There are so many elephant sanctuaries and parks in Chiang Mai, but even now you can see people riding the elephants in these parks - this is cruel and painful for the elephants. What we saw instead was just love shown to the elephants, and the care of all the people who are committed to looking after them 🐘

🏯Doi Suthep🏯

Chiang Mai is a city filled with temples. As you explore the Old City you can’t walk more than a few metres without stumbling in to one and they are all well worth your time as a traveler. But one of northern Thailand's most sacred temples, the one that crowns the Doi Suthep mountain on the western outskirts of Chiang Mai, is definitely something that shouldn’t be missed. It's common opinion that no visit to Chiang Mai is complete without a visit to Doi Suthep.
It's the perfect spot to learn more about Buddhism and meditation

The Karen Long Neck Tribe.
The families here have escaped war and conflict, leaving Burma and setting up home in northern Thailand.
It is their custom to wear the gold rings around their necks, starting at the age of 5. One new ring is placed on every year. On the outside it seems like a beautiful tradition and curiosity got the better of me, but I couldn't help but feel we were in a human zoo.

Bangkok. It was brief. But don't fret, we are coming back before we head home.

Managed to squeeze in a trip to Chatuchak Weekend Market before catching our flight to Chiang Mai and it was so worth it.

This place is overwhelming on every single one of your senses.

The smells and colours are indescribable. It's a complete experience and maybe a slight shock to the system for the kids after being in Dubai.

The area covers 35 acres with over 15,000 booths selling absolutely everything you can imagine. It's the perfect spot to pick up a little something to take home, or maybe some flip flops, or even a pet snake (and nope, I'm not joking! You can literally buy anything here!)

Top tip: you will get lost! Grab a free map, and get lost in the moment.

☀️The winter sun (almost) came out to play this weekend in Brighton, East Sussex☀️

We love the combination of city and beach life in this city! 🏙🌊

Hustle and bustle entwined with the relaxing sound of crashing waves. It really is a special place. Getting lost through the narrow lanes that are flooded with independent shops, restaurants and cafes. I could quite happily wander the streets for weeks and I'd probably never find the same shop twice. Maybe that says more about my sense of direction that Brighton itself.

You can't forget the nostalgic 2p machines on the pier.

This really is a city with something for everyone x

NEW BLOG ALERT:

So I finally got round to writing about our magical trip to Italy. It was an adult only trip and I just wanted to remind all the amazing mums and dads out there, that you have no reason to feel guilty about wanting to spend a little time alone. Happy parents are the best parents.

Have a little read and I hope it encourages you to add Puglia to your own list because trust me, it deserves to be on it!

The time we spend with our children is absolutely priceless but never underestimate the power of some adult time. A little week exploring the South of Italy has done wonders for us not only as a co…

⭐ Meet our new friend Steve, the Starfish. We safely moved him in to his very own rock pool ⭐

Did you know starfish cannot survive outside of water? They breathe through gills on their underside.... please remember this next time you are tempted to take one out of the water for a picture! They live in the water for a reason! They can't breathe air!

Hello! You have found us, and we are super glad you’re here.
We are Cassie, Alex, Little Man* and Bubba*

Let’s start with me; half Greek, half English, I was destined to travel from conception. My childhood consisted of the UK, Greece and Spain but I am now rather “settled” in West Sussex, England. I say settled very loosely as I can’t stay still for too long. I’m probably the least tech-savvy person on this Earth even though I work for a digital marketing agency.
If you are a fan of brutal honesty, chaos, and women who can’t even pretend they have it all under control, then we are going to get on great!

Moving on to the only other “grown up” ever that I would choose to see this world with, Alex. I was lucky enough to find someone who shares my passions and wants to travel just as much as I do. Together we are bringing up two kiddies who also have the dreaded travel bug. How can I describe Alex? At 32 years of age, he is the least adulty adult, full of pranks and constantly keeping a smile on all our faces.

Next is Little Man* age 11, A complete rugby fanatic, tech addict with occasional teenage outbursts. Oh he is going to kill me for writing that. Cue the infamous teenage tantrum.

Last but not least is Bubba* age 10, the most empathetic little human I have ever met. Artistic and passionate, this girl is going places.

Our promise to you is an unedited, brutally honest travel blog, wrapped up in chaos and passion. What more could you want?
Love from us all xx
