The Bernese Oberland: Our Favorite Area of Switzerland!

This area is very touristy, but I can 100% see why. It was our favorite area of Switzerland. Here were our favorite towns/activities. Save this for your trip to Switzerland 🇨🇭

-Oberhoften/Thun: We stayed here and it was really peaceful. One of our favorite days was on Lake Thun.

-Murren: We will 100% be back here and will stay up here next time. There are no cars and you have to do a mountain train or gondola up, so it’s so peaceful early on and later in the day. It’s so gorgeous. If you have kids, check out the playgrounds at certain gondola stations, including the flower trail and playground! I was honestly so sad to leave this area.

-Bern: Bern was a beautiful city and easy to connect through. We enjoyed an afternoon here connecting through, which was perfect, yet adequate.

-Jungfrau: “The Top of Europe” was not an inexpensive day, but worth it!

-Grindelwald- It’s extremely busy, but gorgeous. We took the Pfingstegg gondola up to the top for a mountain coaster, Flyline, a playground, and lunch. If you’re all adults or teens and up, Grindelwald First will have more adventure so I’d recommend taking that gondola up instead of Pfingstegg, which is best for younger kids.

-Lauterbrunnen: Do the hike to Tummelbach.

-Interlaken: It is a busier city, but well connected to this whole area, so a really good base.
