That one place I have always wanted to visit. THE RAINBOW MOUNTAIN IN PERU. Located in the Peruvian Andes in Cusco just 3 hours away from the historical center, Rainbow Mountain is becoming the main attraction to see after or before Machu Picchu. As you could guess, the mountain is famed for its natural, multi-colored beauty at a staggering 5,200m above sea level. This rainbow-like appearance is created by the sediment of minerals throughout the area giving the mountain the turquoise, lavendar, gold and other colors.

It was only recently discovered due to the snow melting revealing the hidden gem that’s still considered holy by many until this day. Since its discovery, Rainbow Mountain as slowly started gaining popularity and has even been listed in National Geographic’s “Top 100 Places To Visit Before You Die”. The world is so amazing, why stay in only one place 🤷🏽‍♀️.

The hills are the killer for me. This past Saturday we tacked Buggy Peak the highest peak in Antigua which stands at 402 m. May not be much of a peak in most countries. Nevertheless, I was hesitant about going especially since it was pouring rain on the North side of the island which is where I had to drive from. I decided I had to challenge myself to see if I could actually do this. When I arrived at the starting point it was bright and sunny. DAM!!! We are really doing this today. To add to it, we had extra people, new faces. I thought to myself, I am going to pass out dead in font of strangers. At least if I die, I won’t know what they said about me. It started out ok, I was in the back as usual, as the slopes got steeper, I felt my heart stop a few times. I took my time, went at my own pace, enjoyed the amazing views along the way, I was in my zone and kept going until I reached the top of the hill. What did I learn from climbing Buggy Beak…….. Life is an uphill climb, You need to TRY not to get discouraged or feel inadequate when things are not going at the pace you expect. Keep going, rest if you need to, help will come and as long as you don’t give up you will get to your destination. Your supporters will be at the end to welcome and cheer you on. Most importuning celebrate when you conquer each incline. It’s not important if you get there first or last as long as you keep going. Muscles will be built on the way and you will get stronger end the end. Surprise Surprise, I could still feel my legs the next day !!!
