We’ve been there and witnessed the positive impact they are having on the environments and communities they serve. They are grassroots organizations as barefoot as we are: firmly rooted in the life, struggle and challenges around them. We’ve focused on low or no-cost projects because giving from the heart shouldn’t cost a fortune or require an expensive placement agency. We’re here to help independent travelers find the best volunteer opportunity for them. Not every adventure we describe will be right for you, nor will you be right for every adventure we describe. But somewhere sandwiched between the orphanages and animal rescues, just before a rural public health program and right after a women’s co-op, there is a project that can show you just how extraordinary you can be.
