Malta wasn’t actually on my travel bucket list, but when I was offered the opportunity, I just had to go!

Whilst I was there, I:
- took a water taxi from Vittoriosa to Valletta
- visited the Saluting Battery in Valletta & learnt the history of the cannons & also Malta itself, before it gained independence
- used the Barrakka Lift (super tall & really cool!) - used this to access the battery & Valletta town!
- visited ‘the pub’ where Oliver Reed (Gladiator) drank his last drink…and died…
- looked at all of the amazing architecture
- saw the theatre that was bombed during the war, and was never rebuilt (to remind Malta of what happened in their past)

Have you heard of the Greek ‘Bahamas’?

There is an uninhabited island of Greece, called Atokos which is part of the Echinades Islands and sits in the Ionian Sea🌊

Wild boar, like the one in the photo, inhabit this island and often visit the beach to swim…even swimming alongside tourists🏊‍♀️🐷

So if you don’t fancy the long haul trip to the Bahamas🇧🇸 , why not visit Zakynthos, Kefalonia or Ithaca this Summer, and take a day trip to Atokos instead🌊💙
