Elvis Presley’s living room in his Memphis home ‘Graceland’ remains just as he left it in August of 1977. The rock and roll legend lived here for more than 20 years. Visiting his home really allows you to experience the personal side of this mega star. His living room, pictured here, is where he would greet special guests and it epitomizes the style of the late 1960’s early 1970’s decor.

The St. Ignatius Mission is a Roman Catholic mission, located in St. Ignatius, Montana which is on the Flathead Indian Reservation along US 93. It was founded at its present location in 1854 by Father Pierre-Jean De Smet and Father Adrian Hoecken and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

It is an example of Gothic revival architecture, built with bricks made from native clay. On the interior, there are 58 murals painted by Brother Joseph Carignano, who was an untrained artist who worked as a cook in the mission.

You can learn a lot about a destination by shopping where the locals shop. I never miss an opportunity to visit a local neighborhood, a market, bakery or cafe. I collect experiences rather than souvenirs and moments that become memories, etched on my soul. Before boarding In Papeete, Tahiti I visited Marche de Papeete, Tahiti’s oldest and largest market. Here you’ll find fruits and vegetables, food booth selling fresh cooked fish and other local dishes. You’ll also find a plethora of local hand made baskets, soaps, Tahitian monoi oil and pareos.

The (Lobster Roll aka Lunch) has been serving up Lobster Rolls since 1965. It’s a combination of rustic beach shack nostalgia and movie star who’s who. From chowder and steamers to its namesake the Lobster Roll the dishes are simple beach fare. The Lobster salad (which I had and is pictured) is 100% pure cold water lobster meat and each roll is created using the original recipe from 50 years ago. If your a fan of ‘s The Affair like I am, you’re sure to recognize this now iconic location. The lobster roll lived up to the hype.

I’m spending the next few days in the Hamptons on Long Island, NY. En route to the house, we passed Hook Windmill, aka Old Hook Mill. It’s a historic windmill on North Main Street in East Hampton, built in 1806. I love old and weathered things which doesn’t hurt since I’m old and weathered myself LOL!

I love a room with a view! While we haven’t played golf this visit, it was nice to look out the window and see the course. We spent some much needed family time by the pool today. It’s 95 degrees so it was a very welcome relief from the heat.

There are days I’m simply in awe of Mother Nature. Tonight’s drive home was no exception. After a very rough few days the sight of this painted sky reminded me of life’s simple pleasures. A ride that I’ve taken thousands of times turns into a masterpiece.

As we were ready to depart Tahiti after an amazing week onboard in we got word from the airline that our flight was canceled and we’d have to spend another day and night in Tahiti at the Le Meridian. Let me tell you, there is no place I’d rather be stranded. If you haven’t been you should add a Tahiti island adventure to your bucket list. Have you been?
