Is there an art of glamping ?

I think not. Just think about the ability to touch all of one's senses in a n off beat location..
After all, folks like the same things, right? Of course not. That is the reason there is no right or wrong way to go about it. Hum, sounds like fun!

Number one and at #1 for a reason is location, location , location. I could vastly elaborate on My Cousin Vinny camping trip. The sound of of roaring 4:30am passenger train (with horn) reminded me I should p*e. The walk there was quite a journey with skunks involved.

So carefully choose your location. I strongly recommend reading the reviews. Reviews are usually honest, after all a previous camper has no chips in the hand, with nothing to lose or gain. They are taking their time to help future campers of their experience.. Read them carefully.

Next, will you need a tent? Make sure the tent you choose is waterproof. Read reviews! Always put a tarp under tent so no parts of it are showing. It is just another layer between you and the ground. If you leave any sticking out it becomes a pan for water collecting under you.
Choose the most level ground, putting your head on upper side if there is one. Clear area of sticks and rocks, This is where a Rake comes to be handy.

I prefer a tent that allows you to stand. Getting dressed is so much easier in an upright position. I also like a smaller footprint for a tent. I have seen some "McTentMansions" that are crazy. Different Tents for different folks, it does not make them a bad choice, just not for me.

The Fire Pit: One of the most important features of your camp. You can really express yourself hear easily. The location of the fire pit should be central in the camp and near the picnic table. Food preparation should be in the same area. Make sure the fire pit is sturdy and safe. Campers always love putting their feet on the sides. Make sure it will not move easily. Make sure that good vent holes in bottom of ring are visible and always open when a fire is going. Make sure ring is high enough for your needs. You do not want Children/adults to have any accidents with it being too close to the ground. The need to use fire to cook on can be solved with the placement of a swing grill. These are wonderful as food can be directed for a perfectly meal. I have purchased this one from Sportsman Guide. Perfect
Roll out containers for gear and dog bed under queen bunk bed. Switch light on bed post. "S" hooks hang for gear. Big Buddy propane heater connected to 20 lb tank outside. Foam flooring for comfort and warmth. Area BOHO carpet for glamp. Faux fur on each beside add texture. Water, tissue, tea candles, small gnomes for wrought iron bedside tiered stands.. Tent is sprayed prior to guest arrival.

IN the world of "Glamping" it is such a great way to express yourself, let your creativity flow.
I was thinking the other day about it, I remembered back when I was a child. I was always building " forts" in the woods. After all,, children learn best through play.
From 1997-2014 I was employed by the Wayne County Family Center. I was a Parent Educator. Job detail was doing home visiting and play groups with Parents and children/child 0-5 years old. While there i screened children to pick up any early delays.
In putting camp together I remember those special children/adults on the spectrum. How? Texture & color. Fur, leather, soft cottons, plush pillows, woods,, & metal etc in camp cupboard are some interactive card games. One of which ot to go our and find what is on your card, it could be prickly, smooth, furry etc. Great for camping kids!
Just by adding something simple it can allow the that person the best camping experience.
I always think of those special children diagnosed early so intervention could react to give them their best life they can live.

Furniture needs to be heavy. It must stand up in all weather and campers. Campers can be rough on furniture and props. Never use anything you want to last.

Just wanted to share the weekends table. Wild flowers from around the farm. First year we had purple Orchids. They were my Mother's favorite♥️ Campers have usually never been on time, the extra time on rather ETA allowed me the pleasure of putting together.

I have 10 campers coming at 5:00pm today. I still have much to do. I usually write a list before bed while everything is fresh on my mind. I made beds up yesterday. That takes time and I do not like to rush it. Still lots to do before they come. The weather is supposed to be beautiful until Sunday. 🌞

I offer beds made for 20.00 each. I use white sheets. People think I am crazy to use in the middle of woods. They are easier to keep clean with bleach. Campers then see how clean they are. How nice to retire from a fabulous day into crisp white sheets. I have a navy plush blanket for each bed. It will match well with the quilt. I am thinking about getting a boho look for tent. Maybe sheer fabric hanging. Or is that overboard?

I'm so excited! The faux shearling rugs matche the bedspread perfectly! I bought on Amazon hoping it would be true color in ad, it's perfect! So this means I'm toning it down from brightness in color. So what do you go with so everything isn't so blah blah earth tones? Add TEXTURE!!! The last thing that leaves the campers feet is this soft, furry comforting rug. I will take pictures of my floor in canvas tent at my next post .Happy Glamping Camper!

Setting up your camp is important. Think of the flow. The campfire is the first most important focal point. It should be in an area with 360 degree access being the most optimal. Brick from Home Depot was stacked around a copper fire bowl. I understand that this is not always doable, but the campfire can still be memorable. Look for coushins to add comfort. Tables for food/drink. I only had a couple coming, otherwise chairs would have encircled the campfire. A swing grill makes for perfect cooking.
