My review of the Moremi XLT
About: The trailer weighs in just over 500kg, fully loaded with rooftop tent, fridge, stove, battery, four ammo boxes loaded, extra awning, tent and camping chairs. Yes the trailer handles all that and a bit more.
Towing: My 2021 Jimny Auto towed the trailer beautifully on tar and dirt. The trailer sits on the road and tracks brilliantly. The only time I felt that there was a trailer behind us was uphill when the gearbox changed down quicker.
Setup: the rooftop tent takes under 10 minutes until one can use it. Once you start to push the roof up, the gas shocks take over and up it goes. A pull on the inside metal arm for the front of the tent and again the gas shocks take over. Then all it took was the stairs and the two window awnings and we were done. The tent/awning took about 30 minutes to setup.
Pros and cons on the Moremi XLT
Pros: Light trailer. Easy setup and takedown. More than enough space for luggage. The added tent room gives protection to the fridge and stove.
Cons: I am 1.75m tall and sleeping on my back, the trailer is too short. Also the fact that the trailer roof is at an angle makes the height a problem if one is on the side of the roof so with two people sleeping one is going to struggle. The added tent room is tiny. So no real storage space. If there is a large table then storing it in the tent is a challenge.
Would I buy one? Yes, if it was only me or I was shorter I would.
