Love not hate makes America great. That was my fav marching chant. Huge crowd braved dreary cold rainy weather to turn out in Providence RI to say Hands Off.
So I put in the 311. I blasted @pvdmayor on insta. They told me this AM that the Olney St bike lane’s been salted multiple times. So I walked myself to observe a stretch of it to check how nice it looks now.
Does this look treated to you? Doing part of a job isn’t good enough. Not checking that a job’s actually done isn’t good enough. This half mile bike lane is one of the few in all of @helenanthonyforcitycouncil Ward 2 in Providence.
Such a level of neglect for so long reaches a point where it feels purposeful. If you’re wondering why “no one” bikes in Providence it’s because all levels of city leadership show a complete disregard to cyclist safety.
One spot of happiness is our robust salamander population. There’s a ton of wee babes.
This apartment is secretly my favorite out of the 3 in this house. It gives a fun, funky loft vibe. It’s perfect for a couple or 2 roommates.
It’s still available to rent!
We’re doing small in unit upgrades & common space upgrades / repainting but it’s available as soon as October 1.

Estate Sale Sat 8/24 & 8/25 10-3 in Providence, RI. DM for address.
I walked from College Hill to a meeting downtown today. This was the traffic situation at South Water Street at around 5:45pm. This doesn’t seem like a problem the city needs to spend 4.4 million dollars to “fix”. How will 2 traffic lanes make this area better for most of those who use and live around here?
It was 2 lanes of hostile road infrastructure before & the city wisely did a “road diet” to make it safer & more inviting. When the rest of the country is moving forward w/diets that help meet climate goals & vision zero goals, why is @pvdmayor trying to take Providence backwards? Why does he want to build a barrier of car lanes again to segregate the East Side from Downtown?
It’s been a lot of fun hosting so many visitors & future Providence residents over the years. But, after an amazing 5 year run with flawless 5 star ratings & rave reviews, we’ve decided to transition to something new. Now through mid-August is your last chance to stay at Brown & Hidden Gem. It’s going long term rental at the end of August.
So book now to catch one of our few remaining dates!
Love our decor? Well, don’t worry - there will be an epic late summer estate sale where most everything you see kitted out in the space is on sale!
