After leaving our friend on their final island, we had a last sail to Svendborg before to leave Denmark.

The wind was kind of powerful but not too much, at the beginning. The the waves were bigger and bigger as the boat wasn't anymore protected by small islands.

Then we had to face very lateral wind for hours and it was not that super easy to handle, we were kind of surfing theses big splashes with the big board.
Then the wind came down, and we had to turn on the engine to reach our target but wait, no way to turn it on, even we changed the diesel filter, nothing.

Finally we managed to approach a kind of private marina surrounded with posh houses, there was a free pontoon, the ship was still powered with some wind, so Mickey had to jump at the top of the boat on it and nearly broke some muscles to stop the boat without crashing in the pontoon.

Lucky us again, there was martin Solmer a nice guy and mecanician around. He manage to find how to start the engine again. We had filled the tanker with some heavy fuel for big boats, probably by mistake of some harbour. We also took time to repair the water pump and took the ship out of the water to ensure everything was fine after the rocks and before the North sea, and it was.

We spended 4 days in this lovely town, having good food beers and some shopping. I love that country, it's not easy to says which one i prefer compare to sweden. We spended time with so many very nice peoples in both places. Many things are so nice there, sea, sky, landscapes, towns, food, traditions...

Lets go to sea how is Kiel now !

For one time, on the way to some Danish island, we were lucky to break the engine again. Why ? because we discovered such a lovely harbour, full of nice people, named Odden Haven.

After a day full of stress and black smoke and a sad evening, we started to search for a real bat specialist and with luck, the first young guy we where talking with answered to us in French : "I'm mecanician, i'm talking french, i was studying in France". Hourra !!

He came for free to the boat to make some diagnostic, helping us to fix some little things with the engine and the electricity. This night he came invited on our boat for some beers and BBQ mackerel, a nice evening.

We were stuck for 4 days in this town, nearly an island, se we were able to come at his kind of celebrate his cute new house. This party was amazing, a lot a french guys living in Denmark and half the people were sailors, perfect place to grab some sailing advices.
We helped our guest Peter to prepare this party, building a sauna with rock on fire, wood sticks and some plastic sheets, a BBQ was huge, ready to grill 2 whole sheeps. Someone brang a big piano.
The other half of the guests were brilliant musicians, jamming for 3 days and 2 nights, super crazy party. Peter was very good at accordeon, but also clarinet, guitar, singing piano, also a talented boat specialist, soon the boss of the business, we also learned that he is chemical engineer. The legend says he has also a nobel prize lol

During the party, we meet é young danish guys, i called them Tic & Tac, whom came with us sailing 4 days the some of the next Island.
The last day with them started with a perfect but after passing under the bridge of Svendborg, the waves came to such a huge size, with a front wind, the boat was hitting so hard the waves, i was thinking it gonna maybe break. We had to turn on the engine to manage to reach the destination which wasn't so far.
I was standing at the bottom of the boat to have a clever view of how ta manage this waves, the two danishs were very excited and also worrying about this dangerous situation after all i was a 2 weeks captain responsible of 4 souls aboard.

They were yelling at me "THORRRR THORRR !!!" i was yelling back too "THORRR THORRR" i don't know if it helped, but it probably did, since then, it's my magic sailor trick in such situations.

The first days on the boat where kind of epic, mainly because we breaked things on the engine, and it took time to find the perfect settings and habit to polish our sailing style.

The rubber exhaust pipe exploded like 4 times and we were near to die because of this black smoke for hours to reach a harbour.
We been once in the rocks because of the GPS (and me).

There was any days without trouble to start the engine, even we had heavy fuel for big boats in out thanker.

Days by days we manage to sail better and having pleasure in all the conditions (or kind of)
