Last week, during National Travel & Tourism Week, Mississippi’s tourism industry celebrated a significant, historic accomplishment.

Gov. Reeves signed HB419, which allocated $21M to Destination Marketing Organizations for tourism recovery. This is the 3rd legislative bill that provides funding to a new program created two months after DMOs across the state came together in 2020 to find a recovery solution for tourism in a post-COVID world.

In the last three years, legislators have allocated $65M in all to fuel economic recovery in tourism for Mississippi.

Tourism is an economic driver, and quality of place gives our communities a competitive edge for increased visitor spending, talent attraction, and new economic development investments. VisitHATTIESBURG takes pride in promoting Hattiesburg as a premier city in the Gulf South to visitors everywhere.
