Today is the 9th day of November, and in 10 days, precisely on November 19, 2023, Blessing Idudu will be turning 5 years old. If I said I'm not extremely happy, it would be a lie. Blessing herself is joyful and has been counting down since she turned 4 years old. She has been constantly reminding me about her upcoming birthday. She has a long list of wishes and has been enthusiastically imagining how her 5th birthday should be celebrated. At one point, I had hoped she would forget about it until the 31st. I tried my best to avoid discussing it, but fate had other plans. She attended our church's monthly program, and when they announced that tomorrow is November, you should have seen her excitement as she turned to me and said, 'November is my birthday month!'

Lest I forget, if you know you've pledged a birthday gift for her, you can start fulfilling your pledge so that I won't need to buy the same gift for her. 🤪😎 I remember her telling anyone who cared to listen, 'My birthday is on November 19, and for me, Dad, you will make my cake like this.' She used my phone to search on YouTube for a specific cake style she likes. She also mentioned that she'd like her shoes to have a certain look, and the way she used her hands to describe the features of her shoes made me laugh. Her enthusiasm and anticipation for her birthday are truly heartwarming."

So, what's the solution? Well, it's simple. Instead of endlessly providing fish, let's focus on teaching people how to fish for themselves.
