During our City Experience day, we dove into the Roots 101 African American Museum. And listen up, if you haven’t been, make this a stop on your next trip.

A journey through history that brought tears, powerful emotions, and a deep connection to our ancestors. From hearing the powerful voices to feeling the weight of the chains.

This museum showcases the rich tapestry of African American history, from the transatlantic slave trade to the Civil Rights Movement and even giving us flashbacks to Big Mama’s house.

We are on the West Plaza of the park. If coming from Main Street, go up the walkway towards the water, and you'll see our set up and registration on the left.

Although the Muhammad Ali Center is our second stage, there will be no registration at the Ali Center. All registrations must come through security at Belvedere Park.

Parking is available under Belvedere Park in the Riverfront parking garage. We recommend rideshare drop offs from Main Street.

We present the Executive Director of the National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals , a guest speaker on the “Beyond Black Squares: The State of DEI in Tourism”Panel 🔥

The National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals selected Jason Dunn as its new executive director in October of 2022. Dunn has long been a trailblazer and outspoken diversity advocate within the industry 📣

While at Visit Cincinnati, he became the CVB's first Black vice president in its 77-year history ‼️ and played a pivotal role in bringing diverse conventions to the destination.

During his tenure, the number of multicultural /diverse meetings in Cincinnati has represented more than one-third of all CVB new business from 2008-18. He also led & created Visit Cincy's Diversity & Inclusion engine, Vibe Cincinnati, which amplifies the Cincinnati region's culture through art, entertainment, and immersive multicultural experiences.

Dunn's leadership also included the development of the Dan Lincoln Institute for Hospitality Leadership, which works with Cincinnati public schools, colleges, and local hospitality businesses to build a pipeline of diverse talent within the industry.

Dunn left his post as vice president of diversity, equity, and inclusion after 18 years of service at Visit Cincinnati for the new position, where he has been tasked with taking NCBMP to new heights in its mission to educate and empower Black hospitality professionals and those that support Black Businesses.

He is the immediate past chair of The Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky African American Chamber of Commerce, which is the largest African American chamber in the Midwest and recipient of the 2017 Outstanding Directors Award.

Because of his passion, dedication, and vision, we cannot wait for the insight he's going to bring to NOMADNESS Fest next month 🙌🏾

On top of her extensive list of accomplishments, Michelle is also 1 of 6 founders of the Black Naturists Association (BNA) 🔥

BNA was established in 2016 by Michelle and her friends who all had a common goal to provide a platform that advocates nudity through naturist environments 🏝️☀️and activities

“Never Say Never” because we’ve got on the line up y’all!

Jeff Jenkins is an award-winning Travel/ Food Blogger, speaker, podcast host, and Influencer based out of Austin, Texas. Jeff most recently is proud to add travel documentarian to his list of adventures as he stars in a show that explores diverse cultures, locations and overcoming fears, backed by National Geographic named, Never Say Never.

In the summer of 2002, Jeff got on his first plane and started his journey as a camp counselor on American Military bases around the world through the program, Camp Adventure. He continued this work for six summers exploring new places, cultures and creating a love for adventure. After college, Jeff guided young minds as an educator in Florida and Texas for a decade, nurturing lasting and meaningful relationships with his Students.

Upon moving away from a life as a public school educator he went with Africa New Life to build Keyhole Gardens in Kageyo, Rwanda. While on the trip his group saw a water shortage in the town of Kageyo. They decided upon returning they would start a water well project and they did. Quickly learning how and returning to transition their idea to reality. It was in that opportunity that Jeff realized he wanted to Travel the world, Help people, and get paid to do it.

Jeff knew he wanted to blog about traveling, it was then that he found, or rather didn't find Fat Black Men represented, with that, Chubby Diaries was born. Since starting Chubby Diaries in 2017, Jeff has added a podcast, Chubby Diaries Annual Travel Awards, and most recently a campaign to give people in his community financial access to passports. He has been featured in Forbes, New York Times, Washington Post, Google, Travel Noire, Essence, Travel + Leisure, Lonely Planet, Texas Monthly, Outdoor Retailers, and The Points Guy.

Jeff was most recently named one of Travel + Leisure's 50 Notable People in Travel. Jeff is currently working on multiple projects and is excited for the recent launch of his National Geographic show. Continuing his work and mission to “Redefine what it looks like to travel.”
