Due to the impact of extreme weather across the Auckland Region, flexibility is available on all fare types for customers who held tickets for travel to/from/through Auckland between Friday 27th January 2023 and Monday 30th January 2023 on an Air New Zealand flight.

You’re able to rebook in the same class of travel between Saturday 28th January 2023 and Monday 6th February 2023 without fare difference, penalty or service fees. If travel is only available in a higher cabin, the fare differential will apply. Find out more here: https://airnz.click/travelalerts

Thank you for your patience as we focus on getting over 9,000 disrupted passengers back to the skies safely ✈️💜 We’ve extended flexibility so customers can change travel to an equivalent Air New Zealand international flight between Saturday 28 January & Tuesday 28 February 2023.

Many hands do indeed make light work 💜 Our amazing whānau have been volunteering at Auckland Airport assisting with flood-damaged infrastructure like baggage conveyor belts, printers, check-in kiosks and manually checking in thousands of customers.

Our people are at the forefront of our response to the floods and are pulling all available levers to get you where you need to go as soon as possible ✈️

In preparation for ’s strong fluctuating crosswinds and heavy rain in Auckland, all arrivals and departures from Monday morning through midday Tuesday 14 February 2023 will be extremely limited.

For your safety and wellbeing, we've made the decision to cancel multiple international, domestic and additional regional flights through this period. Given its evolving nature further cancellations are possible.

Please continue to bear with us as we navigate the disruption has caused 💜 With over 500 flight cancellations impacting more than 29,000 customers, we’re doing everything we can to get those disrupted back into the skies as quickly as possible.

Based on current weather predictions for Auckland Airport, we intend to resume domestic and international jet operations from mid-morning Tuesday 14 February 2023, and turboprop operations from mid-afternoon ✈️

For our international customers, we’re doing everything we can to get you to where you need to go as quickly as possible. We’re back reconnecting our regions, and New Zealand with the world, as we resume flights from all ports ✈️

We're continuing to reaccommodate the large number of disrupted customers, including adding flights, larger planes where possible and working with our Star Alliance partners.

We're also focused on the next phase of recovery, helping the heavily impacted regions, particularly Gisborne and Hawkes Bay. We’re playing our part and sending a special assistance flight, carrying communication support, emergency supplies and airport operational staff, providing much needed support and supplies.
