Sometimes we forget about how special nighttime in the desert really is.
Stars from horizon to horizon, the soft breeze through the sagebrush, the quiet stillness away from city sounds. It’s a place for healing, for remembering to listen, for stargazing and dreaming. 🌙✨

Morongo Valley is a night sky sanctuary, a protected zone, and we are so grateful to share it with our visitors!

is just southeast across the valley (the trees 🌳 you see in the foothills) and behind us is beautiful San Gorgonio, the tallest peak in Southern California. ⛰️⛰️⛰️⛰️

It’s the smallest things that make the biggest differences. Kind touches to make our guests feel as much at home as we do.
A warm cup of coffee from handmade ceramic mugs, a typewriter to leave a love note, a soft pillow for resting, a vinyl record collection for dreaming the afternoon away, bath salts and Turkish towels, home decor with vintage finds from mid century Palm Springs, and a beautiful home amongst the trees to get away from it all.

Our home has a real artist’s retreat vibe, with dark wood tones, wide verandas under the shady trees. A sanctuary for creatives and a place that blends indoor and outdoor living.
Our sunroom French doors open to the front veranda, with valley views under the shade of our African sumac. The porch off the master suite is shaded by olive, mesquite, and acacia trees, taking in views of the mountains beyond. Our outdoor dining table sits next to our beautiful Senita cactus, which blooms gorgeous yellow and pink tinged flowers in the summer 🌼🌵

My moms pottery is all throughout our house in Morongo. Here are some photos from a visit to grammas pottery studio in Palm Springs, , founded by my mom and her 2 partners more than 10 years ago!
Dreams really can come true if you make them. These three artists had been taking classes and teaching at the College of the Desert for years (my childhood was filled with visits to the pottery studio) and they finally took the plunge and opened this studio!
With more than 35 members now, the studio is thriving! I’m so proud of my mom! And also so happy to have space in our home to display and share her pots!
