Our summer calendar is pretty full, but we have a few 2 and 3 night weekday stays available and only two weekends left if you're looking for a shorter stay! Some ups and some downs this week at Cooks Cottage.

The Down... Our direct booking site got h*ck*d and took a few days to restore most everything back to normal (our hosting company wasn't doing backups, so no longer relying on them for this task). HUGE learning opportunity and now I know more about cyber security than I want to after the past few days so it will have way less impact if it ever occurs again.

The Up... We hosted a lovely family last night (the guest is getting deployed -Air Force) to the Middle East and she booked our place to spend some quality time with her family before she takes off. Had the pleasure of taking them on a tour of the lake and made them lattes this AM. And the really really nice thing, her review earned us our GOLD Guest Favorite Badge and made top 1% of all listings on Airbnb! We LOVE being hosts and helping our guests create amazing memories!

Tickets for the Indiana Rail Experience just went on sale! All of their events sell out and this is the #1 rated experience to do in Indiana! Some of these excursions depart from Angola and are such a neat thing to do during your stay at our cottage. Last night some good friends stopped by from The 6 on James and brought us some wine from one of our favs... Acres Away Winery. Perfect evening/sunset to enjoy this one!

A little late posting this but we have the BEST guests!!!

We LOVE hosting and have worked passionately sharing our home with travelers since January 2022 when we began this journey. This was not a milestone we set out to accomplish initially as our focus was just on providing the best hospitality for our guests we could offer while trying to anticipate their needs and this was the result!

I won't lie, as we approached our 100th review, it did get pretty exciting and a little nerve racking, but with this accomplishment behind us... now onto 200!

We switched up some rooms in Cooks Cottage today! We added a 2nd queen bed to the upstairs and now have two queens and two twins in the upstairs bedroom and upgraded our library with a lovesac couch (still have the oversized bean bag 😜). Here are some pics of the areas!

Lots of bookings coming in over the past month, but we do have some specific dates here and there in case you're looking for a little rest and relaxation for a couple days on Lake James! Starting the season way earlier (March 15th 😍) due to this Spring like weather! Now visitors of Cook's Cottage can book a boat tour (weather permitting) during their stay!
