If Grand Canyon National Park is your next Winter destination, be prepared to adapt to a potential unexpected entrance closure, or traffic jam, due to bad weather.

I was there the last week of December and due to a snow storm, it wasn't possible to visit the entire park. Desert View Drive was actually closed.

I talk about what matters to me for this year and what I want to accomplish, I describe my vision and seal the letter and keep it hidden until I open it at the end of the year. During Summer or Winter, if you get a chance, please immerse yourself in this wonderful park. is one of my favorite national parks in the US. The mountain is beautiful, the lake is clear and the wildlife is surprising. There are many trails in the park and around. It feels cozy and relaxing to hike there. You won't regret it.

Which Meal Plan in hotels do you prefer when you are traveling?
There are generally 4 different categories. In America, most hotels don't include meals, it's called the European Plan (EP).
In Europe, many accomodations include: American Plan (AP) which includes 3 meals; Modified American Plan (MAP) which includes breakfast and either lunch/dinner or Continental Plan (CP), typically a light breakfast.

This lovely breakfast set up by my awesome neighbor comes from Mademoiselle Colette ette a French pastry shop located in Menlo Park, Palo Alto and Redwood City.

When we told people we were going to visit the Badlands, they all said, “there is nothing to see, it’s better to just drive through”. Well, I’m glad we don’t always listen and prefer having our own opinion. Badlands National Park was fantastic and hiking Notch Trail was very fun. I’m always impressed in National Parks or State Parks, how the parks are managed, and the amenities designed to match the environment. Badlands National Park is another great example. My advice: go visit the Badlands and make your own mind about it.

I fell in love with you.
Your charming landscape and architecture like a small town from Switzerland felt so peaceful. Hiking in the woods through strawberry lane in the mountains was a blast. Our wonderful dinner in an upscale Italian restaurant made our only night in this town so perfect! People say you are as beautiful in any season. I can’t wait to come back and visit you during Winter.

How about waking up with the sun, drive to Arches National Park then have breakfast in the beautiful town of Moab?
It’s another warm day in Utah, the park is already getting busy at 8 o’clock. Arches National Park is great to visit. You can take few walks around if you don’t want to hike for an hour.

We have our dog in the car, pets are not allowed on trails, so we chose short ones. We walked the windows trailhead and Delicate Arch Viewpoint. The landscape is amazing and the colors in the morning are absolutely beautiful.

Red, pink and cream sandstone cliffs surrounding you. Yes, you are in Zion National Park. 😎
Driving through the dark tunnel with big openings to discover the landscape is such an experience whether you’re coming from the East or the South entrance. If you have time, park at the visitor center, and take the shuttle to enjoy the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive.

With half a day available, we decided to go on a short hike and chose the Canyon Overlook Trail. The trail is pretty easy, with steps and offer a magical view. It’s our second time in the park, we hope to come back and spend several days to explore more. We love it here!

Known as Sin City for obvious reasons, Las Vegas has that energy that no other place in the world has. With only half a day here, we chose to walk the Strip and stop by few hotels and shops to take in what Las Vegas Boulevard is all about.
A mix of Disneyland and Times Square in the middle of giant luxurious hotels describe well what we’ve seen. This city is for everybody! Young, family, couple, group of friends… anybody can find something they’d love in Las Vegas.

You don’t have to be a poker player or love casinos to plan a trip here. Las Vegas offers a variety of concerts and shows, plenty of high-end hotels for a relaxing weekend and incredible culinary options for true foodies.

We stayed at the Trump International hotel because it is pet friendly and right next to the Strip. This was the perfect location. We enjoyed spending time by the pool in the warm morning before heading to Las Vegas Sign for one las picture on our way to Zion National Park.

Road Trip Step 5️⃣ – TIME TO PACK 🧳
Light packer or organized traveler, you know you’ll take different clothes based on the length of your trip and destination. In addition to your outfits and toiletries, have a first-aid kit and don’t forget to refill whatever pills you’ll need. Walgreens and CVS are not everywhere in the country. If you plan on visiting national parks, don’t forget your hiking gear. Buy bear spray, as advised in some national parks, in case a bear gets too close to you.
Have a box of snacks for the road. Every time we go on a road trip, I pack a big box and a mini fridge with food and drinks that don’t perish easily, and everybody loves.
The first time I did that, my husband rolled his eyes thinking we would stop at a gas station or fast food when we’ll get hungry. Well, during that road trip we got caught in a snow storm on a top of a mountain without moving for 8 hours… my food stash was the best way we had to keep us sane and patient during this adventure.
