Lough Neagh reminding us of all her wild power this morning. 🌬🌊😮

Tranquility on Toome Canal Walk yesterday evening after the morning's torrential rain. 🌤😊
All set up and ready to go at the first Love Your Food Show in the Titanic Exhibition Centre in Belfast, over the next three days! (The brand new sister show to the Love Your Home Show.)
So excited to be flying the flag for our superb Lough Neagh fish at this event. (As always, all fish are supplied by our Lough Neagh Fishermen's Co-operative Society!)
And we are attending in partnership with our very good friend and fellow Lough Neagh Artisans, Bronagh, from Bakehouse. 🤩 Really looking forward to this one!!
Have you got your FREE tickets for the event yet? Maybe see you there?...

Have we not got the cutest Friday Feel Good post ever?...
This week, we at Lough Neagh's Stories, were visited by the gorgeous little big people from Naíscoil Na Fíobha, Toome, Duneane. These little big people are finishing up at pre-school in the next few weeks and will be big P1s in September! 🤩😍
We often have renditions of "Baby Eel" (Forget "Baby Shark"!! 😉) on our Lough Neagh's Stories' tour boat, but it was a pleasure to have our first rendition of "Babaí Eascan"!! 🤩🥰🤩
Hope all the boys and girls have enjoyed the lovely sunshine all week and that they'll look out for all the little bugs, birds and fish we learned about! A special big shout out to the ladies who take such good care of them. And to little Éanna who wasn't able to join us due to just being out of hospital ... which is why we'd love him, Pauric and their family to join us for a boat trip over the summer.

💫So absolutely delighted 🤩(and not a wee bit overwhelmed! 🤪) to be shortlisted as a finalist in two categories in the Mid-Ulster Mail Business Excellence Awards 2022: "Best Business Start-up" and "Retail, Leisure and Tourism Business of the Year".
We know that we are in the best of company in each category and wish our fellow finalists luck and a great night at the awards ceremony at Corick House Hotel and Spa on Wednesday 9th November 2022.
Delighted most of all about the recognition the shortlisting shines on beautiful Lough Neagh! 🌊
Thanks to everybody who has supported and promoted Lough Neagh's Stories thus far. It truly means the world to us! 💗

On #WorldMentalHealthDay2022, it just felt obvious to us to let you see and hear for yourselves why we are so blessed to have Lough Neagh on our doorstep.
...On any given day, in any weather, there is no better tonic to help you feel calmer, re-energised ... and 'grounded'. These are ideas and feelings we explore a lot on our tours, especially our #spiritualtours of Lough Neagh.
Look after your own mental health. Look to the natural world to help you do it.

A big night for the Lough Neagh and Mid-Ulster tourism community! 🌊🌄🍾🥂🥂
We are so proud of our Lough Neagh Artisans group for having been finalists last night at the prestigious Tourism NI's Giant Spirit Awards Night at The Slieve Donard Hotel in Newcastle. It is a pleasure for us to be members of this group, which is so tirelessly championed and supported by Eimear Kearney and Lough Neagh Partnership. 🙏
In addition, a further six Mid-Ulster tourism providers, experiences and individuals, were shortlisted for the finals:
Bakehouse (also a fellow Lough Neagh Artisan!) Brooke-lodge Guest House Friels bar and restaurant Jamese McCloy of Glenshane Country Farm Mary McGee of Mid Ulster District Council and Seamus Heaney HomePlace.
Congratulations to all these hard working local tourism colleagues! 👏👏👏
...And both Seamus Heaney HomePlace, and Mary McGee of Mid-Ulster District Council, took home the gongs in their respective categories: "Most Innovative Large Tourism Business" and the "Local Spirit Award", designed to recognise an individual who has made a significant difference to the tourism community since 2020!! 💚 We are delighted for them and our whole area.
Congratulations to all this year's finalists and prizewinners!

Susan and Helen visit Lough Neagh! 🙍♀️🚐🌊🛥😍
Are you going to be watching Channel 5 at 8pm tonight?
If so, you'll see one or two familiar places ... and faces. We had really good craic showing Susan Calman her way around our Lough Neagh fishing boat and Ballyronan Marina over the summer. 🛥😄
...And it was a dream come true to meet Helen! 💓 (Sorry, Susan ... but Helen is just sooooo cool!!!! 👌👌)
They built up a thirst working with us and at St. Mary's Ahoghill GA&CC, before heading off to quench it at The Crosskeys Inn. Tune in tonight to @Susan Calman's Grand Day Out to see all their local adventures and those on the North Coast with Giant Tours Ireland. 😊
Get the kettle on early!! 😉😉

“Toome Bay Afternoon Tea Package” 🚤☕️☕️🍰🥪
Our four-hour “Toome Bay Afternoon Tea Package” is proving very popular! We’ve now done a few of these trips ... and smiling faces and full bellies seem to be the order of the day each time!
We’ve enjoyed the privilege of having various people join us for birthday celebrations and long-awaited family reunions. We really appreciate people choosing to spend those extra special times with us.
Big thanks to the family of Loughshore lady, Maura Campbell, author of “The Way To The Crock Road” (2012), for choosing to share her birthday with us. Maura’s book is a warm-hearted, nostalgic, golden memoir of simpler times around the Loughshore. We thoroughly recommend! 💖
“Toome Bay Afternoon Tea Package” is available on request as well as on advertised dates. On occasion, it may also be possible to make it an “Evening Tea Package”.
A minimum of six ‘adults’ is required for this trip. (‘Adult’ participants are those aged twelve and above.) We can either take your own party of six to ten on this trip; or we can add your name to a waiting list and let you know when we have six people interested in a socially distanced, mixed trip.
Interested?
We have a few seats left for a socially distanced, mixed trip on the 21st of July. If you are interested, please send us a DM.

Hi all!
Remember we said that we would begin releasing details of specific boat tour itineraries over the next few weeks?....
Well, heads up! We'll be posting the first of these tomorrow! Join our page again tomorrow to get the detail on our "Lough Neagh Family Taster Tour".
This is a short private tour to whet your appetite about Lough Neagh, in the safety of your own bubble. It is suitable for young children and is costed at the same standard rate for one to ten people!
If you have a special family or milestone event soon, or if you didn't get to celebrate one the way you'd hoped over the last period, maybe this tour might be for you ?
Lough Neagh’s Stories' Tour Boat
Want to meet your new fully resident coded Lough Neagh passenger tour boat? 🚤😊👌
As we've just celebrated Easter and as things slowly begin to lighten a little, we felt that the moment had arrived for us to properly introduce you to our tour boat! (Registered name: "Mary Jayne".) So, we hope you enjoy this little preview.
And, remember, if you choose to tour with us in due course, this will be the first time EVER that you will be able to experience what Lough Neagh has to offer, under the stewardship of a practising commercial Lough Neagh fisherman, with over thirty years’ experience!
Proud
We are incredibly proud of the fact that we bought this boat really as just a shell a few years ago and then, in the typical style of Lough Neagh fisher folk, have since done easily ninety per cent of the extensive refurbishment work ourselves. The hours were long, but sure that sleep business is overrated! :)
...And the efforts were so worth it when she was officially coded as a passenger boat last August!
Promotion of the superb boat maintenance and restoration skills of Lough Neagh fishermen, and full boat building skills by a few of them, is another aspect of our long, rich heritage which has been unknown to the wider community and world for far too long. It is, of course, something Lough Neagh fishermen themselves very humbly dismiss! But we, at Lough Neagh's Stories, intend to make a song and dance about it! 🙌🙌🙌
Thank you!
We have been humbled to have had so much willing support along the way by genuine, talented, hard working Loughshore craftspeople, including Lough Neagh fishermen, past and present. They know who they are (Ricky, Diana, Sean, Pauric, Barry, Tony, Tom, Sean, Caolan, Shane, Damien and L-J) and they generally shun the limelight. But we want you all to know that your willingness to help means the world to us!
In particular, we are indebted to fishermen friends, John, Eugene and Noel for their generosity of support, advice, e
