Wow! What a day, push bike ride to Monet’s garden. He made the garden to make the paintings. 60 paintings in 60 days. Then a Quartet in a palace/castle going back 1000 years last used by Rommel. We sat in the room! The gardens, walls and cobble stones are all there. We stopped to eat an apple here and there as we walked through. Words and photos can not convey the emotion.

Honfleur, another beautiful town. Built over centuries, torn down, invaded, bombed and occupied. Now, great sweets, cider and scenery. So glad to live in Australia, no Roman invasion, English invasion, Viking invasion, English again, German invasion, Commonwealth liberation and German invasion again and so on.

Rouen, Notre Dame, just to let you know there is a Notre Dame in most cities because it means “of our lady”. Had a great day, stood where Joan of Arc was sentenced then burnt. But it’s ok 25 years later she was declared innocent. Tonight was the most amazing light show and Escargot for dinner. Struggling with the pressure but we will get through

Wow another day of excellence, the best castle tour by King Richard the Lion Heart. Locks, food, wine and magnificent scenery. Tonight we are in Rouen, city of Notre Dame cathedral. Have to pinch myself to realise that “this is me”

Paris and day 1 of the river cruise. Absolutely breathtaking scenery, food and drinks. Company is pretty good too.
