By the second week of January the decorations are for the most part down in Paris and the only reminders of the holiday season are the occasional discarded trees on curbs waiting to be carried away. It's been very cold so far and the next two months are always the most difficult for me to get through. We have a second baby arriving later this spring so I have a feeling the days will somehow manage to creep along even slower....

June was a busy month filled with travel, visitors, and catch ups with friends before everyone parted ways for the summer. I tried several new and new-to-me restaurants - one in particular that landed on my "love" list and another that landed on my "never going back again / absolutely do not recommend" list. We headed to the US at the end of the month which also meant lots of fun shopping for things to bring back for friends and family....

May in France is filled with holidays, so unless they happen to fall on a weekend the month tends to fly by. May 1st is probably the toughest day in France, even worse than Christmas and New Year's Day in terms of things being open because it's Labor Day, which of course the French take very seriously. The best is when you can…...

The April 2024 recap is shorter than normal as we spent the majority of the month traveling in the US and introducing bébé to friends and family. I was so sad to miss the famed April in Paris, which generally does live up to the hype. Apparently however this year it was nonstop rain! Read on to discover exactly where I ate and drank, shopped, and what I did in the April 2024 recap....

March is always one of my favorite months in Paris. After a long (very grey) winter, seeing the leaves return to the trees and flowers starting to bloom is beyond exciting. The warmer weather also meant I was able to get out and about more with the bébé which we all (Boomer included) enjoyed so much. Read on to discover exactly where I ate and drank, shopped, and what I did in the March 2024 recap....

I apologize for being so very far behind on recaps. The past few months have had a very different pace than I'm used to but it's really been wonderful (and also tiring). February feels like ages ago and looking back somehow already makes me feel nostalgic. Read on to discover exactly where I ate and drank, shopped, and what I did in the February 2024 recap....

With a newborn baby and absolutely frigid temperatures, there were days in January that felt like entire weeks. When the temperatures were above freezing we managed to get out and do a ton (while staying close to home) which I think was the best possible thing for both me and baby. Now I feel completely capable of taking my little…...

I am so late on this recap post and I apologize. December truly feels like an entire lifetime ago (I think it was the longest January ever?). It's always one of my favorite months in Paris with all of the festivity, but this year it was an extra special month personally (which members may have guessed why). Discover where I ate and drank, shopped, and exactly what I did in the December 2023 Recap....

About Me
I first moved to Paris in Fall 2012 for a semester abroad program. At the time, I had absolutely no idea how I would fall completely head-over-heels in love with the city. I returned the following summer for another study abroad program. It was during that time that I first imagined myself living in Paris full time.
Life happened, but I never let go of my dream of living in Paris. Five years later, the stars aligned for me and I moved from Dallas, Texas to Paris. My daily routine in here is full of new challenges, adventures, and excitement. It’s pushed me outside of my comfort zone and allowed me to truly connect with myself and pursue my passions and dreams. Not every day is extraordinary, but I’m lucky to live in a city with as much energy and history as Paris.
My goal is to show you “my” Paris here – my discoveries, favorites, and some of the lessons I learn. Even on the most mundane or average day I find inspiration in being here. It’s the little things – noticing a new detail on a building, attempting a French recipe (my favorite website here), or just by mastering (or beginning to grasp) a new element of the language.
This blog will be about my inspirations, my discoveries, and the highs and lows of living life as an expat. This is just “my” Paris. And I think that’s the incredible part of this city.
Paris means so many things to so many people. I’ve heard from native Parisiens that you can live here your whole life and still not discover everything.
I’d love to help you plan an unforgettable trip to France. Just head here for more information!
You can read a little bit more about me and my journey to Paris here, keep up with my travels here, and find some of my favorite spots to eat and drink in Paris here (if you need Dallas places, see my guide for The Infatuation here). Also, I’m always updating my Instagram. And if you need something else, don’t hesitate to shoot me an email!
I’ll always be a Texan at heart, but for now I couldn’t be happier about the French life that I’m building.
