Madryn Beach Cafe Chat!
Coming in from the beach to have a virtual cafecito with you! It's been forever :) Living a year without a constant flow of amazing people has been weirdy. But I think we've made the most of it.
Right now we're back in Puerto Madryn: sunny, windy and oceanfront.
I'd always noticed the sweet property on the corner of our street with such well-manicured lawns and pretty lights. Randomly, 3-4 years ago, a work friend in Ushuaia had mentioned his sister had an awesome new hotel in Madryn. I put two and two together and went this morning.
La Posada de Madryn is THE cozy hotel and we can literally see it from our apartment balcony. Every room has direct access to green space either a little patio or towards their huge lawn.
Let’s pause and appreciate green lawns in Patagonia. That ain't easy -- or cheap.
La Posada’s lawn is huge with lots of private spaces and a big heated pool.
Plans are in the works to build a fancy wine bar to REPLACE the living room lol because they know what people want right now.
There are no restos nearby (unless you want rotisterie chicken and fries) but the hotel's resto is profesh and no one wants 3 huge meals a day lets be honest.
La Posada is located in a new barrio that's grown South from the city called Barrio Sur. Most of the streets here are sandy/rocky and there are big empty lots so it can look a little hostile but hey, That's Patagonia, kid.
Barrio Sur's trick is that it's still little. Old enough to have trees, too young to have pavement. Safe, quiet at night, chill beach suburb.
The "city" is one huge crescent with a biggg beach and the tides are nuts. Its currently ORCA season and thus time to grab the binoculars and drive out to Peninsula Valdes. The next event on the social calendar is the big Beach Polo Tournament March 21 & 22. I'm no horse person but who could resist?!
