Good morning all. Thought today I would share some pics of some of the delicious food I experienced on Scarlet Lady. Unlike other cruise lines, all the restaurants on Virgin Voyages are included in your cruise fare. There are a variety of restaurants catering to nearly every taste, including one that specializes in vegetarian/vegan foods (non-vegetarian choices are available as well.) The menus are designed by Michelin stared chefs and great detail is given to not only taste but presentation. Virgin ships don't have a huge main dining room, opting instead for a variety of smaller restaurants. They also do not have buffets, which tend to waste a lot of food.
Having been on 5 different cruise lines, I can say the dining on Virgin is some of the best I've had.

Hi all! Well, I'm back from an incredible week on Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady! What an incredible ship. I'll try to hit the highlights here then go into some other details in coming days!
We'll start with check-in. It couldn't be easier or better organized. You setup your check-in time on the app before you even begin. Once you get to the cruise terminal and check-your bags with the porters you head inside. I waited in line less than 5 minutes. Check in itself took even less time. Upstairs, through security and you're on!
Unlike some other cruise lines that let you board, but then you can't get to your room for a couple of hours, you can go straight to your room and drop off any carry-on bags you have. .
Your Cabin- your personal oasis, your own, private quiet spot to relax, re-charge, and de-stress. As soon as you open the door, the curtains to your veranda open automatically. By the desk is a tablet that controls pretty much everything. You can open and close the curtains with your tablet, turn the main lights off and on and set different mood lighting even. The tablet controls the television, and you can even request service from your cabin steward!
On the veranda is of course a table and chairs but also a hammock to relax in and sway in the breeze.
The bathroom is pretty much standard with the exception of the shower. Instead of a standard shower head you get a rain shower from directly above. Additionally there is a hand held shower wand to use anywhere that needs special attention...

Well, that's about it for now. Next time I'll go over some of the food options- there are lots! Enough for a whole separate post.

WOW! I’ve been onboard only about an hour and I’m stunned! Scarlet Lady is amazing. I’m going solo on this trip and I found this waiting img my cabin today. They truly plan things for solo cruisers not just leave them to their own devices!

Hi again everyone from warm Miami, FL. Had a great flight from Dallas to Miami on American and actually arrived 20 minutes early. I can't stress enough the importance of flying in to your port city the day before your cruise leaves. Going the day of can be a disaster if you flight is delayed or cancelled. The hotel I'm at tonight has a free shuttle to the cruise port! Its the Comfort Inn at Miami Airport. You can also arrange for a shuttle from the cruise port back to the airport on your return. My next entry will be from the deck of the Scarlet Lady tomorrow afternoon.
Remember too, Virgin is one of the few cruise lines that has special cabin for solo travelers, so if you want to treat yourself, Virgin Voyages is a great option! Good night from Miami!

Hello friends. I’m off on another adventure. This time I’ll be on Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady leaving from Miami going to Cozumel and Bimini. This will be my first trip on Virgin and I’m really excited. Virgin is an adult only cruise line. I’ll be posting pics daily to share the adventure. So one of the simplest yet memorable moments of the trip was doing something I had never even thought about doing. There was a 1,000’ foot tall waterfall fed by a glacier. Got to drink directly from it where it empties into the fjord. It was ice cold and the purest water I’ve ever tasted. I never once thought I’d be drinking from a Norwegian waterfall, but there we were.

As many of you have seen in the past few days, I'm on a cruise through Norway and the fjords. I had a lot of people express interest in doing a similar cruise. SO, I'm going to do a poll of sorts (for some reason FB took out the poll option). If there's enough interest, I'll start looking at doing a group and getting a lower rate. Good morning to all my Oklahoma and Texas friends sweating in the 100+ heat. It’s 51 degrees here. Dan and I are going up to a mountain today. Maybe have a snowball fight. You read that right. Stay cool.
