✨Dreamworks Land ✨

Do you have a little one who loves Shrek, Trolls, or Kung Fu Panda? Dreamworks Land may be the perfect place for you! This new addition to Universal Studios Orlando is the perfect place for you to explore.

This newer area of the park has so much to and explore:

~ A family friendly roller coaster- that would make for a great introduction to roller coasters and is themed to the movie Trolls.

~ Playground themed to Shrek and a farting slide- something kids of all ages would enjoy!

~ Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey meet outside of Shrek’s house in his swamp.

~ Meet Fiona’s Dad, King Harold (in his frog form).

~ A Kung Fu Panda themed training academy (you may get wet in this area) a mini splash pad, with a lot of fun features.

~ Po (Kung Fu Panda) also meets in the Training Academy.

~ Dance party with several Dreamworks characters

~ Meet Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse

~ Snacks! There were a lot of different themed snacks- like the Shrekzel (Shrek Pretzel); a Shrek and Donkey popsicle; there was also a Trolls themed snack stand.

~ And so much more!

This is a great place to bring the kids to run and play, and have their first introduction to theme parks anywhere!

🐸🐻 Tiana’s Bayou Adventure 🦊🐊

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens on Friday, June 28. This new attraction will open with a virtual queue, and will remain that way for a little while after opening. (Disney has not announced how long this will be in place before going to a full standby.)

My oldest daughter had her cast member preview today, here were her thoughts. The ride itself was super cute! The animatronics were next level. Swipe to the last picture to see the ride photo (*faces blocked out except hers for privacy reasons*).

This attraction will be an amazing addition to the Magic Kingdom! It will be a great family ride. Reminder that this attraction does have a 40” height requirement.

Our last day in Rome was so much fun! We did a golf cart tour, and got to see the rest of the sights in the city. It was a great way to end our trip.

Rome, Italy 🇮🇹

(Day 2)

Today, we got a look at the Colosseum. It was stunning! So cool to see in person. We chose to not go inside, as the lines were long, and we wanted to explore more. After the Colosseum, we ate lunch and did the big red, hop on hop off bus. We rode it around the city for hours.

Did you know: the Colosseum should have taken over 30 years to build, but the ancient Romans had enough slaves to build the Colosseum in just 8 years.

Rome, Italy 🇮🇹

(Day 1)

Our first day in Rome, we did an e-bike tour. This tour is not for the weak, it was a 5 hour tour, and a 15 mile ride. We really didn’t know what we were getting ourselves into. We saw so many beautiful sights, and learned a lot of history. All in all, it was fun, we just were not fully prepared. Midway through we stopped for drinks and a snack (we got sorbet lemon gelato in a lemon rind.)

I can officially say I’ve done it all: Donkey rides, cable cars, planes, trains, Ubers/taxis, e-bikes, ships, boats, busses, walking, golf carts, and so many other modes of transportation.

Pompeii, Italy 🇮🇹

Pompeii was so much bigger than I expected it to be! We had a two hour tour, and we barely scratched the surface. We saw a house that belonged to a richer family. We were able to see the castor preserved bodies of those who were lost due to the disaster. We also saw the Temple of Jupiter (the Roman God of the Sky). We also saw a men’s sauna/bathroom/pool area.

Pompeii was so interesting. Fun fact, many of the people who died in the Pompeii disaster didn’t die due to the volcano itself, but more due to the ash and the air pollution/quality. It’s definitely a place I’ll have to visit again, so I can see everything I missed this trip.

Napoli, Italy 🇮🇹

This day, we had a private driver. We went to a shopping center and a beach. Our driver took us to a really good family owned Italian restaurant. We got pizza and pasta, and tried all kinds of their family meals. The food was so good! The family and owners were so nice!!! After we ate, we went to Pompeii- stay tuned for pictures from Pompeii!

This day was so much fun! It was so magical and beautiful. The scenery reminded us of the Pixar movie Luca.

Mykonos, Greece 🇬🇷

(Part 2)

In Mykonos, we did a winery tour. We got to see the vineyard, and sample the wine. We also sampled the olives that they grow there. And we got to really get to know the owners of the land. They sang some songs for us, and we got to get a glimpse of the Greek culture. They also showed up how they make their wine. Everything about it was so much fun! It was a really unique experience.

Mykonos, Greece 🇬🇷

(Part 1)

We did a lot in Mykonos. First we had a tour of the Island. We saw a Monastery, which was beautiful! And then we went to a cafe, we were given a small plate of honey and cinnamon doughnuts and coffee- very delicious! And we had time for some shopping. We went to a beach, and then went to the windmills. After this tour we ate lunch, and then went to a winery [see the next post for more details on that].

The landscape in Mykonos was absolutely stunning! There were many beautiful views. The beaches were so pretty. Mykonos was stunning, and we didn’t have to ride donkeys or cable cars to access the city!

Ephesus, Turkey 🇹🇷

The Ancient City of Ephesus was amazing! The ruins that are still there were incredible. Ephesus is also really rich in both Greek and Roman mythology history. There was a mix of both Roman and Greek history and landmarks. Our guide also told us that the markings were in both Ancient Greek and Latin, which means both Greeks and Romans lived there at some point. It was so cool to see how people lived over 2,000 years ago.

Santorini, Greece 🇬🇷

Ever wanted to ride a donkey up a million stairs? Well in Santorini, Greece you can! All jokes aside, Santorini was beautiful! We ate Gyros, and got some Gelato. Our tour guide also showed us some of the most amazing picture spots. And we saw a black sand beach! The sand is black due to the volcano. When we completed our tour we went back to the ship. On the way down, we decided to skip the donkeys and ride the cable cars down.

Civitavecchia, Italy 🇮🇹

Our family vacation was incredible! We had so much fun exploring Italy, Greece, and Turkey as a family.

This was our first day in Italy, we just got off the plane and hit the ground running!

We were really immersed in the Italian culture. We went to a market, a beach, and just sat and people watched. It was a fun and relaxing day! We also ate at a really good Italian Restaurant that was recommended by our Airbnb owner.

🌸 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 🌻

Flower and Garden Festival is still in full swing! Check it out! There are so many different topiaries and beautiful flowers! So much to see. Everything is made out of flowers, moss, mulch, and recycled materials (if a flowers was unable to be used). There are so many different topiaries. The horticulture team is amazing!

Another cool thing about Flower and Garden Festival is the food, this year there are many new and different plant based dishes to keep in theme with the festival~ this means people with food allergies, vegetarians, and vegans have many different food options to pick from. And if you’re not plant based, don’t fret, there are also tons of non-plant based options.

🥘 Tiana’s Bayou Adventure 🍛

Breaking news: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has been confirmed by Disney Parks to open at Magic Kingdom this summer!

Just a few more months, and you’ll be able to ride this Princess and the Frog themed attraction!

While there’s still no official opening date, progress has been made and it’s coming along very quickly! Stay tuned for more updates!
