BREAKING NEWS

This is the most welcome news in a long time✈️🏝

From 4 October, the current traffic light system of red, amber and green countries will be scrapped and replaced with one red list only.

Also from that date, travellers will no longer need to take pre-departure tests for travelling into England from abroad.

Then, from the end of October, fully vaccinated passengers from non-red list countries will be able to replace day-two PCR tests with lateral flow tests.

The government has also announced that from 4am on 22 September, eight destinations will be removed from the red list.

The destinations are: Turkey, Pakistan, The Maldives, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Oman, Bangladeshi and Kenya.

It's been a little quiet on my social channels recently as I recently got married and had an amazing honeymoon in Corfu. Here is some information on our travel and details of the wonderful hotel we stayed at.
We are already missing the heat of the sun, cocktails on the beach and 5* luxury.
Please see below 🙂

Preparing for Travel

Important to keep up to date with the gov.uk website for any changes to the travel light system & requirements, we travelled to an amber country and had the following paperwork & tests booked before travel.
 Passenger Locater Form (PLF)
 Proof of Vaccination Status or pre-departure negative test
 Booked tests PCR/Antigen (please ask for further information)

Manchester Airport T2
A smooth process, at check in they required (PLF), Proof of Vaccination status & passports, I highly recommend purchasing Fast Track passes through security, it took us approximately 40 mins to check in and clear security.
Plenty of shops bars and restaurants were open, if you would like to enjoy a meal before you fly most of the restaurants are using an app for you to order and pay. The new terminal 2 was impressive with plenty of space, facilities and charging points. You can also pre book the new airport lounges with me to start your holiday of in style.

Flights
We flew with TUI and prebooked our seats to ensure we were sat together; masks are required throughout the flight although you can take them off if you are eating or drinking. A pleasant flight to Corfu in just under 3.5 hrs.

Arrival at Corfu Airport
Very swift through border control this took us about 20 mins, our passports were checked along with our Passenger Locater Form.

Grand Mediterranean Atlantic Resort & Spa

The most amazing time at this stunning adult only 5* hotel, we booked a Junior Suite with private pool on an All-Inclusive Basis. As we were on honeymoon we were greeted with a bottle of champagne and fresh fruit in our room. The resort is built on a mountain side and although, we could have walked up and down this slope the hotel provides, staff-driven, golf buggies to take you wherever you need to go. There is also a funicular lift that stops at all levels between the beach restaurant and reception with amazing views over the sea. The resort is set within the mountains with plenty of facilities including:
 Main Pool
 Buffet Restaurant
 A la Carte restaurant
 Beach Bar
 Spa
 Entertainment
We booked a couple’s spa* which was very relaxing and a romantic dinner for two*in the “Secret Garden”. The dinner was a 7-course menu in the most idyllic setting as the sunset over the sparkling sea.
The staff at the resort were 5* and nothing was too much trouble and always greeted with a smile. We would highly recommend a suite with private pool, there are only 8 of these rooms within the hotel, prebooking is highly recommended.

Corfu Airport
Before returning we had to do a test which we pre booked in the UK, you can arrange this in resort through the hotel. Once we completed our tests, we simply uploaded the results and completed our PLF form online for our return. (To complete the PLF form we needed proof of our day 2 test booking in the UK).
At check in they required proof of our PLF & our test to return results along with our passports and boarding passes.

Would we travel again? Absolutely YES!
We will be looking for our next holiday with the kids in October Half Term! Here is a video of our amazing villa with the added bonus of a resort and all inclusive in Corfu.
