I mean, it is not a secret that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE TRAVEL and that travel is just a part of who I am - I honestly couldnโt live my life without it.
For me traveling is the greatest teachers of all because I think nothing teaches you more than exploring the world ๐โจ
But what if I told you, that travel does not only transform your life, but can also change the lives of the people of the countries you are visiting and it can actually be a force for good.
We celebrate WORLD TOURISM DAY to promote the importance of tourism all over the world - but it is also so important to make sure it is done right!
Obviously we know that tourism has a big impact on our planet and SUSTAINABLE TRAVEL is an important part in today travel lifestyle and most of you should be aware of this term by now.
Today I would like to shine some light on COMMUNITY TRAVEL โจ
Tourism is an $8 trillion global industry, but many local businesses and communities do not benefit from it. There are some forms of tourism where $0 reaches the hands of local people.
Through community tourism you not only feel & experience the country in a whole different way as it give you real insight into local lives - but it also ensures your travel experience makes a genuine difference to local people by keeping the dollar in local communities ๐ต
So next time you travel, just think about how does the way you travel impact the country & local communities and how can you support them.
It can be by swapping all-inclusive resorts for community-owned accommodation, spend your money in local shops & restaurants or use a tour operator who works with the local community ๐ซถ๐ปโค๏ธ

It all started 7 years ago when I left my corporate job for the first time to go backpacking around Australia and Asia in search of something different, in search of myself and my purpose.
I returned back to Germany as a completely different person, not knowing what I wanted to do next, the only thing I knew for sure is that I am no longer fitting in this box society tries to put me in.
Shortly after I unexpectedly receiving a job offer to help startup a company in Canada where I then ended up working for another 3 years in the corporate world ๐งณ
Even though I really enjoyed the new work environment in Canada, during this time it became more and more clear to me that this corporate life is not meant for me. I was also focusing a lot on my personal and spiritual growth, I was connecting more with myself and what I really want out of life. I realized that traveling is my absolute passion, so I decided to follow my heart and start creating the life I really want to live. First step was to study on the side to become a tourism specialist.
At this time, I was still tied to my corporate job as they provided me with my canadian work visa. But I knew I couldnโt do this any longer, so I decided to apply for Canadian permanent residency, so I would finally be able to leave the corporate world behind and fully dive into my passion - TRAVEL.
Trust me - following this path was not always easy. Especially applying for the permanent residencyโฆ It was a very long and frustrating process and I almost gave upโฆ But then after 2 years, lots of paperwork, waiting and praying, I finally became a Canadian permanent resident!!!

Fast forward, with a heavy heart I then decided to leave Canada behind in order to fully pursue my dream of living the travel lifestyle. I spent an unforgettable 4 months traveling around Asia with many ups and downs, not exactly knowing where to go and what to do nextโฆ. And honestly, I also kind of lost myself in the process - which is not always a bad thing - you sometimes need to lose yourself in order to find yourself again.
The end of the story is: Because I continued to follow my path and always trusted that everything will unfold as it should - I am now working remote for my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE TRAVEL COMPANY and I couldnโt be happier!
Reflecting on my journey, I sometimes still can not believe that I really created this life for myself. And donโt get me wrong, it wasnโt always easy but because I never gave up and decided to leave all of my fears and โwhat ifโsโ behind I am now living my dream and passion.
You see, as soon as you start following your INNER COMPASS, your life path will unfold itself right in front of you. So what are you waiting for?

When I started traveling 6 years ago, I left behind a life full of drama, negativity and self doubt.
I felt like I was living in a tiny little box, I was surrounded by negative people with a small mindset, whenever I did something they judged me for my actions and talked behind my back, which is why I was struggling with low self esteem and felt very insecure & lost.

Last week weโve celebrated our 4 years anniversary and I still canโt believe how life brought us together.
It was already written in the stars that we will meet and fall in love the moment I decided to leave Germany to travel and go find myself.
I went on a journey of getting to know who I really am, I learned what I truly value and what I want in life, and most importantly I started to love myself โค๏ธ

Going for a girls trip during the week without โtaking time off workโ seemed like a dream when I used to work my regular 9-5.

On this girls trip Iโve realized that Iโve been living such a better life since I left the 9-5 rat race.
No more living for the weekends, no more boring and unfulfilling job and someone else dictating my life!
Instead I am living a freedom based lifestyle, making my own hours, love what I do and feel so much more fulfilled โจ
I know it is hard to escape the 9-5 rat race and the security that comes with itโฆ

โThere was one deeply humble and serene man I would meet in the Amazon who would change to course of my existence. His name is Delfin.
As We were asking around Misahuallรญ (Ecuador), we learned about an indigenous community called Pimpilala tribe. They speak Quechua, believe in Pachamama (Mother Earth) and live according to principles handed down by their ancestors, surviving off the riches of lush , fruitful Amazon jungle.
One of them Delfin, was a man who lived with his family in the rainforest. He took pride in his way of life and was a strong warrior who had little interest in or exposure to the modern world. Through Delfin, we learned that his tribeโs lifestyle was being threatened. Loggers and oil companies had moved in and although he didnโt seem to understand what they were up to, he was aware that something in his environment had changed for the worse. For the first time, his tribeโs kids were getting sick from the fish they caught in the nearby rivers, and the traditional medicines no longer worked.
That day, we arranged a dialogue with the Pimpilala community and made an arrangement that our very first groups would visit Delfin and stay with him and his family.
Later when we met, Delfin would tell me that he didnโt understand why people wanted to come to his village. He didnโt have much food, nor is there plumbing or electricity. โWhy do they want to stay here?โ He kept asking. We responded saying โWe just want to see your way of life, to just hang out with you and learn about your life in the jungleโ
Today we brought a group to Delfinโs Village every month for more than 22 years. He and his wife still I have been outstanding partners, they have a perfect service record with us meaning that they have never had to single complaint from a customer bought them.
To this day it still captures the spirit of the region and respects the way Delfin wants to share his culture with us.
It was our first trip, as well as our first experience with creating a sustainable solutions through tourism.โ
