The City of Surprises
Over the past decade, Budapest has established an architectural quality that is on par with its heyday 120 years ago. The capital of Hungary today is a living museum of some of the most prominent eras of architectural history in Europe coupled with works of contemporary Hungarian architecture. A mix of eclecticism on the Grand Boulevard, magnificent buildings on the banks of the Danube, contemporary architecture in old and new quarters, spectacular metro stations, urban redevelopment projects or the Museum Quarter currently under construction are perfect examples.
