This weekend I visited Queen of Cups it is perched conveniently on the corner of Northload Street, and from the fairly standard pub exterior, you might not realise what lies inside.

The co-founder and head chef of the Glasto-pub, Ayesha Kalaji, (master chef)was recently nominated in the Middle East category for the BIH spotlight awards 2023, after winning last year's award.

The pub itself was also shortlisted for the Estrella Damm Top 100 Gastropubs 2023.

Todays venue Shell Bay seafood restaurant approx 90 mins from the Hideaway in studland bay - Dorset . We feasted on scallops -miso cod - keralan curry washed down with a crisp white wine - perfect Sunday afternoon delicious food and sublime views

Our favourite time of year here at The Hideaway.
The huge numbers of starlings that gather in winter over the Avalon Marshes are one of the most spectacular ‘wonders of the natural world’. The birds use the reedbeds at shapwick nature reserves as a safe and warm night-time roost. Most of them are escaping the cold winter in Eastern Europe The cold bright morning s are perfect for hikes up Glastonbury Tor This weekend is Glastonbury Frost Fayre, with Christmas stalls and musical stages. December is then full of festive events in Glastonbury Abbey and in Wells with a sparkling Christmas market This years Clarks Village have also added an outdoor ice skating rink.
