This panel will explore how the racial reckoning playing out in society, ignited by the death of George Floyd, also highlights issues of diversity and inclusion in the art world. Open letters have been sent to arts institutions across the country highlighting the decades-long culture of racism within the American art world. The panel will discuss issues of inclusion, division, lack of scholarship and how work by Black artist has been siloed within the art world. This panel of artists, galley owners and educators will offer their take on how to change this trajectory.
