Planning to go on your FIRST INTERNATIONAL TRIP? I gotchu😉 I would naturally advise you to go to a visa-free destination owing to the fact that it’s easier to plan and execute. Here, i’ve listed some ideas:
5.) VIETNAM- Once a underrated destination and now becoming one worth exploring. It’s mainly divided into 3 regions: North (Hanoi, Sapa, Ha Long, Ninh Binh), Central (Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue), and South (Ho Chi Minh, Phu Quoc, Mui Ne). Going to all of that will take more than a week’s time so if you only have 5-7 days per vacay leave, i suggest visit the regions on seprate trips. Vietnam is worth returning to.
4.) TAIWAN- Best toured in winter. Long walks will feel pleasant from December to March. Tourist spots are far so better book via Klook. Yehliu Geopark is a UNESCO World Heritage Site not to be missed. Fly your lantern at Shifen Old (train) street. Free things to do: marvel at Chiang Kai Shek memorial hall, discover the oldest temple in Taipei, Longshan temple, cross the iconic rainbow🌈 pedestrian in Ximending, and OF COURSE taste xiao long pao🥟 Taipei is known to have the best night market experience and i strongly agree.
3.) THAILAND- Be ready to tickle your tastebuds! Thai food is good food👌🏼 Michelin restaurants and stalls are scattered everywhere and prices won’t hurt your budget. Beware of tuk-tuk scams and temple scams. DIY your trip but always book a tour excursion via Klook and/or Get Your Guide. Don’t miss Wat Pho, Wat Arun, Grand Palace, Ancient City, Ayutthaya, Sanctuary of Truth. Bangkok is known for its cheap shopping! Alot half a day for shopping at Platinum Fashion Mall for your “bangkok dress” haul. Platinum Fashion Mall, Big C, Central World are all accessible via the Ratchaprasong SkyWalk and BTS Skytrain.
2.) SINGAPORE- Be ready to walk a lot under the scorching heat. SG is known to be a pricey destination in South East Asia. So plan your trip well ahead of time and save up. Be ready to do a lot of walking (and sweating). Free things to do here are a trip to see The Merlion, Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, Haji Lane, Clark Quay, Chinatown, Peranakan shophouses in Joo Chiat. You will experience a mix of Chinese, Malay, and Indian. Skip the fancy restaurants and experience authentic Singaporean in world renowned hawker centers. Of note is their efficient transportation system and wide use of the English language. Finding your way has never been easier in Singapore.
1.) HONG KONG- Of course this should be first on your list! Mainly because Hong Kong is a world in itself. It is famously dubbed as “Asia’s World City”. Things to do here are endlessssss. There’s Ngong Ping village accessible via a scenic cable car ride, Disneyland, Avenue of Stars, Victoria Harbour, The Peak accessible via tram, Mongkok, Tsim Sha Tsui, Lan Kwai Fong, Central, Aberdeen Fishing Village, AAAAAND you could easily go on a day trip to Macau. There’s so much to do i guarantee you that your 5 days will feel bitin😉
Are you inspired to travel now? If so then good! I encourage you to explore the world🌍🗺️🛫 There’s no happier feeling than accomplishing a travel dream.
Travel happily,
