Role Overview:
The Group Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations across five lodges, ensuring consistency, quality, and creativity in each dish. The role is based in a remote setting, requiring flexibility and an adventurous spirit.

Key Responsibilities:
• Culinary Leadership: Lead and inspire culinary teams across 5 lodges, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring that all chefs and kitchen staff maintain the highest standards of food preparation and presentation.
• Menu Development & Innovation: Design seasonal and regionally inspired menus that align with our luxury brand and cater to the discerning tastes of our international guests.
• Quality & Consistency: Maintain a consistent level of excellence in food quality, presentation, and taste across all lodges.
• Training & Development: Mentor and train culinary teams, emphasizing skills development, teamwork, and adherence to culinary best practices.
• Operational Management: Oversee kitchen operations, including budgeting, cost control, and procurement, ensuring that all lodges are well-stocked and efficient.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all kitchens adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation.

Requirements:
• Minimum 7 years of experience as an Executive Chef, ideally with multi-property or remote lodge experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for controlling and overseeing the complete business operations, people, ventures, production & marketing
2. Presents strategies for growth of the company, business plans for future,
3. Commercial awareness and industry knowledge – does NOT have to be from the tented industry but if the candidate has worked in construction industry, or any other production line industry.

4. Overall duties:

a. Act within their powers
b. Promote the success of the company
c. Exercise independent judgment
d. Exercise reasonable care, skill and diligence
e. Avoid conflicts of interest
f. Not accept benefits from third parties

5. He/she will be responsible for the overall success of the business
6. Supporting staff will be provided who will all be responsible for reporting to the GM. The GM reports to the MD. Making sure that duties are being executed effectively by every supporting staff and team is the responsibility of the GM.

Cedar Wood Recruitment is currently looking for an Operations Manager in Botswana salary neg DOE.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
 Strong leadership and supervisory qualities
 Proven track record of mentoring and supporting teams and individuals
 Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships and effectively produce results
 High emotional intelligence and maturity
 Front of house eye for quality and detail
 Logistics and purchasing processes and management
 Commercial understanding of business in order to align to commercial goals and objectives
 Financial acumen with ability to create and submit operational budgeting needs as well as to analyse
P&L’s and garner insights
 Ability to implement strong controls & procedures
 Project management skills, with proven track record of implementation, efficiency & success
 Labour law proficiency and strong human resource understanding
 Statistical proficiency and analysis capabilities
 Proven track record of strong lodge management ability within the luxury hospitality sector
 Systems proficiency (financial and commercial)
 Ability to execute company learning and development plans
PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS
➔ Education:
 3-year Diploma or Bachelor Degree in hospitality management
 Strong financial acumen would be an advantage
➔ Experience and Skills:
 Experience in safari operations or remote locations
 Proven ability to build and maintain successful partnerships
 Excellent leadership abilities and communication skills
 Record of assisting with safari logistic operations and camp movements
➔ Personal Attributes:
 Be humble and kind and through their track record with proven integrity
 Effective delegator
 Driven and self-motivated
 Hands on, lead from the front and mentor the team
 Adapt, adopt and embed the company culture, vision and mission and then grow along with it and with
the team (we are a bespoke brand and different to all high-end luxury mainstream competitors)
 Have analytical abilities to identify key metrics for action
 Must have a calm and approachable demeanor, with ability to work under pressure
 Creative thinker and effective problem solver
 Due to the nature of the business, be able to work flexible hours as well as weekends and public holidays
 Be able to work with multiple senior managers, managers from different countries, speaking different
languages and different cultures
