Thanks to everyone that came out to the Balloon open house at the Illinois Aviation Museum on Sunday, we all had a great time and I would like to share some Pictures with everyone !!!

On Sunday April 30th at 11am, OConnell Ballooning will be at the Illinois Aviation Museum At Clow Airport in Bolingbrook. We are having an indoor open house to discuss Hot Air Ballooning. During this open house we will be discussing the history of ballooning, dating back to the mid 1700's, Modern day Ballooning, special shapes, competition and large ride balloons. We will also talk about the science and physics and weather for a safe balloon flight. Our balloon basket and envelope will be on display for any questions that you may have.
This is a FREE event and all ages are welcome.
After our discussion please look through all of the other great aircraft that is on display in the museum.

We are looking forward to cooler weather in the coming weeks as fall is getting closer.
It seems that weekends may be the best time for our balloon tethers as all of are schedules seem to change this time of year.
We will be reaching out to everyone via this page if the weather is looking good for a tether at Clow Airport.

Because the weather forecast has changed to include Fog and increased winds for the morning.

Oconnell Ballooning is now offering Hot Air Balloon Tether rides at Clow Airport in Bolingbrook. The best weather for a tether ride is calm winds and clear skies, Wednesday looks good in the morning at sunrise. Please check back to this page for more information.

Just an update for the tether this week, Wednesday morning looks to be the best weather, calm winds clear skies. My final decision will be made on Tuesday morning allowing 24 hrs notice for event registration. Please check back for updates.

Sundays weather looks great for the O'Connell Ballooning first Hot Air Balloon Tether event on Sunday, July10 starting at 530 am, at Bowlingbrook’s Clow International Airport.
