POST LOCKDOWN REVIEWS - We are so thrilled to have our doors open once again, to share in the beauty of our mountains - our boy’s Benny and Boo have also had their full of fur baby guests, so we find ourselves in a happy place as we navigate through what our new normal is going to look like in the future. Plan your visit to the Blue Mountains now.

With all the closure due to bushfires and flood damage, it is
worth noting the following areas ARE OPEN:

Wentworth Falls:

* Princes Rock Walking track and lookout
* Queen Victoria Lookout
* Empress canyon
* Valley of the Waters track
* Nature Track
* Shortcut Track
* Rocket Point Lookout
* Weeping Rock Circuit
* Wentworth Falls Picnic Area and Lookouts

The following areas of Blue Mountains National Park are now open:

* Blackheath area - Govetts Leap lookout and the Blue Mountains Heritage Information Centre, Fairfax track, Evans lookout, Braeside fire trail (not walk) and Walls Cave.
* Katoomba, Leura and Wentworth Falls lookouts and cliff top walking tracks (where not impacted by other closures).
* Empress
* Murphy's and Ingar campgrounds- walk in access only
* Climbing and abseiling areas: Narrowneck, Malatia Point and Wall exiting east. Narrowneck unburnt areas.
* Kedumba Valley Road to Sublime Point trail
* Narrow Neck cycle route and fire trail (no walking tracks or descents open).
* Conservation Hut cafe
* Faulconbridge Point
* Blue Gum swamp
* Nellies Glen and Devils Hole
* Bells Line lookouts and roads (including Mount Banks and Pierces Pass Roads, Banks Walls cycle and lookout, Walls lookout and Rigby Hill lookout and walk).
* Six Foot track is currently open between the Explorer’s Tree at Katoomba and Guyvers Bridge (just west of Megalong Road).

Safety alerts: Rain and flooding

Heavy rains have damaged many tracks and roads and canyons and creek crossings are flooded. Water levels could rise at short notice. Some crossings are already impassable due to flood debris and infrastructure damage. Landslips, treefall and rockfall are more likely in these conditions.

Visitors are advised to plan accordingly and avoid flooded or unstable areas. Visitors may have to navigate muddy conditions, unclear paths, fallen trees, flood debris and washouts. Visitors should not cross creeks or rivers when they are flooded or water is over stepping stones.

To our brave, tireless and courageous fire fighters - we say thank you ♥️🇦🇺

***GROSE VALLEY AND RUINED CASTLE FIRES NOW OUT***

It’s been a long, hard fight but we’re pleased to report that the Grose Valley and Ruined Castle Fires are now extinguished and have been removed from ‘Fires near me’.

Both fires presented a massive threat to the Blue Mountains communities and it is a tribute to the skill and tenacity of the Blue Mountains RFS, Fire and Rescue NSW and the NSW Parks and Wildlife Services that these were contained without huge losses to property and life.

We also had enormous assistance from RFS and FRNSW units from the whole Sydney metropolitan area and across NSW as well as significant water bombing assistance so a very special thank you to everyone that came to our aid in our time of need.

Thank you also to the community. Your vigilance, co-operation and support has been simply incredible and a tribute to spirit of Mountains people.

Please let all your friends and family know that the Blue Mountains is open for business and let’s get out there ourselves and support our local businesses!

We’ve had a fantastic day of rain today, following on from a week of intermittent rain. The best part is, there’s more to come... so grab a brolly and come visit us! Air quality is great and the cooler weather and rain is showing us all how wonderful our mountains are with regrowth already starting ♥️🇦🇺
