As I sit here on our Cunard Cruise, I figured I would mention why it is our favourite of the non Disney cruiselines. For one, there is no push on alcohol packages. I get so annoyed with the lines like Princess that keep pushing the various packages. I do the math and it isn't worth it to me but for many, I am sure it is. I know the house always wins and there is no way Princess is doing it to save money for passengers. But again, it works well for people who drink alcohol. But on Cunard if anyone asks in groups if it's worth it, majority of the people say no because the clientele on Cunard is very different. Here tea is a big deal lol.
I love the variety of people on Cunard. So many countries represented with passengers compared to other lines which is mostly American with a few Canadians splattered around lol. Here there are a lot of British and Australians.
The atmosphere is so relaxed. No hairy chest contests lol. Lots of trivia, educational lectures, live music, etc.
You can still get free cappuccinos at dinner. How cool is that. If you are into beer, it's actually fairly cheap. $6.50 a bottle. Mocktails are way too expensive though.
Cunard has a huge library. It's two floors.
The theatre is very nice and classy and no waiters running around serving drinks. So much nicer than some lines where they don't time it well and you have them serving people while the show has started.
Cabins include a kettle, tea and coffee. Everyone gets a half bottle of bubbly too
Tea time is like no other. It's the way it should be.
Ball room dancing is amazing to watch. So many people love to dance and it shows on Cunard.
Pricing is comparable to other lines which is nice.
Food is average but I am not cooking or cleaning, so I am happy
You still get twice daily cabin service. I like that.
Orange juice, cranberry juice, ice tea, coffee, tea and milk is always available at the buffet area for free.
Yes you can order milk and cookies from room service. Just like DCL.

Someone asked me about my favourite cruiselines and why. Everyone has their own reasons for which line they like. Before my cancer diagnosis, I wasn't too picky. Give me a cruise and I am happy. As I get older, I do like the smaller ships compares to the massive ones. I tend to do more relaxing now on board and food is a little more important as I have to follow a diet a bit more. I am also less tolerant to cruises that have a lot of drinkers on board. I don't want to see drunk passengers. So here goes.

My favourite of course is Disney Cruise Line. I'm a huge Disney fan so it's a no brainer. I love the characters, the entertainment and of course, the dining is a show all on its own. I love how people get to know each other beforehand on groups. They are some of the best to entertain children and adults alike. Just like the parks, the cruises are great for all people. The only downside is the price. With no casino on board they don't have that extra revenue and of course, the caliber of entertainment probably costs extra too. Food is good, but no different than most lines. You can have Mickey head ice cream bars anytime, so there is always that lol. Disney has adult only sections and they enforce it. Our next Disney cruise is next May on the new Disney Treasure. I have 11 people sailing with me on that one and I can't wait. A Marvel dining room experience is probably the one I am looking forward too the most. Or maybe the Coco dining room, or the new Moana show. Yup, I'm excited about it.
Disney cruising is like no other and because of that I tell people to never compare. How does one compare to a Disney product? It's my treat cruise. I do other lines in between so I can afford to cruise more often. I will post another day on why I like Cunard and Celebrity next best.

Next year is their 70th. Hoping to be able to go for that.

Howdy all. It's been 9 months since my stage 4 cancer diagnosis and I am still alive and kicking. I still do cruise bookings and if anyone is concerned that I may not be around to help with your booking, be assured that my team leader Diana will take care of all my clients, if I can't. I work with a wonderful agency and my clients will not be left in the cold.

Happy New Years to my clients. It's because of you I made the top 25 list on my team leaders congrats. This is my fun travel page and my 2024 plans are looking good. Aulani next month, Disneyland and DCL in May (along with my first ever Pearl's In The Park event), and Cunard in September. Since I missed out on Christmas in early December this year, due to cancer, I am sure there will be a Disneyland trip early December next year.
