1️⃣ Start Early
The early bird gets the worm—or in this case, the best deals on flights and hotels. If possible, try to book your travel arrangements several weeks or even months in advance. Not only will you save money, but you'll also have your pick of dates and times. And if you're traveling with young children, it's always best to have your plans firmly in place well before the chaos of the holidays descends.

2️⃣ Make a List—and Check It Twice
Okay, so you might not be Santa Claus, but making a list is still an essential part of preparing for holiday travel. I hate paying baggage fees, and I especially despise overweight baggage fees. So to combat those pesky little fees, here's a trick I learned years ago. This is another great way to save space in your suitcase. Wear your heaviest pieces of clothing to the airport. This will lighten your baggage weight and save you money. Once you check in you can shed those pieces on your way to security. I always keep a small empty duffel bag in my purse for these moments. 😉
