What an amazing travel bucket list meetup we had yesterday in Montreal!

It featured a workshop/discussion on traveling to unusual destinations led by .stein, who shared the extensive knowledge she gained during her travels to 70 countries. We also had a great time making unusual destination bucket lists and thinking about how we can around the things that block us from traveling to those places.

What a great edition of our Travel & Bucket List Conversations Meetup we had yesterday!

After some travel-themed icebreakers, we told stories about why we each started traveling and got inspired by each other.

Linda from / gave an inspiring presentation on How to Make the Most of a sabbatical.

I recently learned that the Japanese character for the word 'intention' is made up of two different characters - the ones for 'heart' and 'direction.' Did you know that? I also just realized that 'intention,' per se, is the opposite of 'habit.'⠀

We grow up learning to live by habit. We subconsciously do hundreds of things each day, without realizing that every little thing we do can have a positive impact on our lives, as well as on others'.⠀
⠀
We learn to accept the routine and stay within our comfort zones. We tell ourselves that 'life is life' and treat ourselves like we're just a number in this world.⠀
⠀
Tell yourselves that you're not just a powerless being. Tell yourselves that life's too short to stay within your comfort zone, and that you have the power to step out of it and consciously decide to live with intent. ⠀
⠀
Strive to intentionally work towards making a positive impact instead of saying that you don't have the power to. Work towards intentionally leading a more fulfilling life by exploring, learning, adventuring, creating and challenging yourself.⠀

Intentionally live your best life and you'll go places.⠀

In light of , here's a picture from my personal album. I took this picture on the way to visit the Tian Tan Buddha on Lantau Island, Hong Kong. Getting there is a beautiful journey- it involves getting to Lanteau Island by ferry or subway, then taking a 25-minute cable car ride up serene mountains. Look out for a blog post about it. wishing i could be in the mountains, above the clouds today...I always thought it was cool to fly over the clouds on an airplane, but it was so much cooler to experience it while standing on steady ground. in fact, i fell so in love with the view that i stayed for hours (sunset pics coming eventually). if i hadn’t left my camera charger at the bottom of the mountain, i might have never left.
