🗺Choosing Your Next Destination🗺

For some a vacation means lounging by a beach and for others it means adventure and exploration. Whatever your preference, deciding where in the world to go is a science - and we’re here to help you choose your next destination wisely🌎

📝Making a List of your ‘Wants’:
Let’s decide what things you want to see and experience. Are you looking to be relaxed? Are you looking for an adrenaline rush? Perhaps a history lesson on local architecture? This step will help us envision what you truly want out of your trip.

📝Flushing out your ‘Needs’:
Narrowing down the needs are just as important as the wants. Let’s take a moment to consider what things you’ll need on this trip. Will you be travelling alone? Will there be kids on this trip? Maybe you’ll need to rent a car, or pre-book some tours. What kind of accommodations will best cater to your needs? This list will provide a solid framework and help kick off the journey.

📝Setting a Budget:
Now that we know your wants and needs, let’s talk money. This is where we determine what goals are feasible. Setting a budget early on in the planning journey will ensure we keep tabs on spending. Remember- a good vacation doesn’t require spending crazy money. You’d be surprised of the affordable options available!

📝Consider Past Vacations:
Looking back at past experiences is an excellent way of identifying what brings you joy. A trip down memory lane can help guide us during decision-making.
..& the rest is up to us!! After some fun dialogue and getting to know one another, we will dive into some research and start building you a custom itinerary that caters to all your heart’s desires 💕
Keeping an open-mind throughout the process is key, and will help pave the way to a marvellous journey!

Make sure to check out our highlights for more information on different packages, FAQ’s and a sample itinerary 👆🏻

I haven’t posted in a minute…life has gotten super busy and my focus has been diverted. Just thought I’d jump on to share some visual serotonin in the midst of so much chaos in the world.

The world as we know it has changed drastically over the last 18 months and to some the future feels scary and unstable. But remember - history teaches us that humanity has overcome many dark times. This pandemic is not the first and sadly won’t be the last. Let’s stay focused and not loose hope! There will be sunnier, more peaceful days ahead.

Happy International Women’s Day!
❣️
Today we celebrate female empowerment👩‍👧There’s still a lot of work to do and today is a reminder of how we need to work towards achieving a world that is free of sexism and gender discrimination. Even in the 2021 white-collared world, women are still paid less and expected to work harder than the average man. Women are constantly having to fight battles to be heard, to have their opinions considered and to be valued equally to their male counterparts.

Consider this - how many females have paused long and hard when considering a solo trip; simply due to the dangers for women travelling alone? I bet the statistics are staggering! The truth is, women are often encouraged to travel with a buddy or at the very least execute travel plans with extreme caution, especially in foreign countries. The dangers exist for anyone and anywhere, however it’s not a surprise that women are seen as an easier target and are subject to more acts of violence than men.

While all this is equally sad and true, there are many things we can do to ensure we’re taking all the appropriate safety measures and travelling with all the information required to avoid hot spots and seek help quickly. In the spirit of supporting women, I’ll take this opportunity to give a shout out to a female owned business Based in Canada, focuses on solo travel and provides it’s followers with helpful tips, blogs, resources and encouragement needed to seek a solo adventure. For 10+ years their website and social media has built a community of travellers who share insights and suggestions and have helped so many people accomplish their travel goals!

Today we celebrate women - but let’s not forget our duty to spread awareness, SUPPORT one another and remind ourselves that the battle is ongoing. We need to continue making meaningful impacts, one glass ceiling at a time 💪🏼

Hello Instagram Friends and Happy New Year !!! 🥳 Thank you for following me on this venture as I take this pandemic as an opportunity to share travel experiences so that we may live vicariously through them for now. I appreciate the likes, DM’s and follows, and look forward to the day we could start planning vacations!

There’s no time like the present to introduce myself so here we go🙋🏻‍♀️Je m’appelle Stephanie, I’m 30 years old, married 2-ish years and live in a small town called Tottenham in Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 I am a Paralegal⚖️by day and an avid traveller at all other possible moments 🧳

Funny/Ironic fact about me: I used to be deadly afraid of flying up until I was 21. I had an overpowering, all-consuming fear of crashing. Before flights I would take sedatives and recite endless prayers. Needless to say - I was THAT embarrassing passenger crying the entire flight. After some back to back trips those fears were quickly replaced by a strong desire to see the world 🌍 I am now a frequent flyer member and my longest flight has been 15 straight hours 💪🏼✈️

My most memorable trip would have to be the Empty Quarter desert 🏜 in Abu Dhabi in 2018. Doing yoga at sunset and riding camels at sunrise in the middle of an Arabian desert is something you don’t ever get over. I’m not going to lie to you all - I cried on that camel and I cried on that yoga mat 😩 my little wandering heart was full and I decided in that moment I wanted to help people experience moments like those. I’ve always had a knack for planning and building itineraries, and after a few trials runs with friends and family, I decided to offer up travel consulting services and help people build itineraries for their trips. I’ve been able to connect with so many people around the world who share the same passion. I’m grateful for those connections and can’t wait to pursue it all further once the world reopens!

Well that’s all for now folks! Cheers to a new year, new beginnings and cheers to the end of COVID real soon!! 🥂

🧡Valencia🧡〰️ La Ciudad de Las Artes y Las Ciencias

This port City is known as the City of Arts and Sciences🧬with futuristic interactive museums, a planetarium🪐and oceanarium🐳. Museum and art lovers are in Valencia as most museums are either free or very economical to enter.

On the flip side of it’s modernity, Valencia is also a treasure for old architecture (it is Europe after all). The City still holds many Roman and Moorish foundations amongst it’s street character, and even has it’s own unique style of gothic architecture -
A staple of Valencian Gothic architecture is the Valencian Cathedral or ... *ready*... Iglesia Catedral Basílica Metropolitana de la Asunción de Nuestra Señora de Valencia ...😅 This Cathedral was consecrated in 1238 and is home to what is said to be the genuine Holy Grail - a holy and official chalice from the 1st century used by Popes during special ceremony.

What is definitely no mystery is that Valencia is home to the authentic, mouth-watering Paella Valenciana 🥘. Another shocker - a true Valencian paella will never include chorizo 🤯 Don’t feel too bad if you had no idea; renowned chef Jamie Oliver got slammed by Valencianos after he added chorizo and chicken to rice and called it a paella 😬 A traditional paella will include shellfish, fish or meat, and is a must have when visiting the City!

Wrap it all up with endless street art, gorgeous cafes and lively nightlife, & you’ve got yourself another destination to add to that growing bucket list 📝🛫🇪🇸

Wouldn’t it be dreamy to wander through an enchanted forest with secret tunnels and fairytale palaces ? There’s a place where it all exists 🏰🌳 . . .

Sintra is a charming town on the outskirts of Portugal’s capital City. It attracts visitors from all over the world and offers a glimpse into the Middle Ages, taking tourists back in time through it’s winding paths and grandiose architecture. The palaces each offer it’s own fascinating story and boast medieval and gothic character. Landmarks such as the National Palace of Pena, Moorish Castle, and Quinta da Regaleira are tucked away in amongst luscious hillsides, making every step and turn an unexpected experience.

The palaces were once inhabited by rich miners and royalty. They have been maintained and protected and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The grounds are just as fascinating as the palaces themselves with winding gardens, and outdoor tunnels leading to water streams. The surroundings are playgrounds for the wealthy - full of grottos, viewing towers, chapels, stables....there’s not enough words to describe it all. You’ll have to see it to believe it !!

If medieval history and ancient treasures 💎 hidden among forests, welcoming you with secret passages and spiral staircases is your thing, look no more 🗺 A true adventure awaits 💫

Air Canada and WestJet are now offering FREE Coronavirus-19 related travel insurance for international travellers. Air Canada is offering this coverage on flights to any country purchased from now until October 21, 2020 and effective for trips taken until April 12, 2021. WestJet is offering insurance for travel to Europe, UK, Mexico and the Caribbean only. The coverage is offered for travel until August 31, 2021 and good for up to 21 days of the trip.
▫️
The coverage would include COVID-19 related medical costs, emergency travel and coverage for some mandatory quarantine expenses. Insurance providers such as Manulife and ToGo are receiving backlash from those who believe that incentivizing travel during a time when our government is strongly encouraging against it, is highly conflictive. The Canadian government is still advising against non-essential international travel as COVID-19 cases are still being reported. On the flip side, insurance companies are defending their actions by providing that air travel is required to move goods and keep our business economy going. They believe that until a vaccine is available, this provides a safe and efficient option for travellers while we continue to adapt to living with the virus for the foreseeable future.
▫️
How do you feel about all this? Is promoting more travel during a pandemic putting our country at risk of spreading the virus? Or is this coverage protecting our travellers and airline economy? 🏥🛫😷🇨🇦

Grief. Heartbreak. Emotional distress. These are feelings familiar to many and are moments in life that will test our faith. I know I’m not alone in saying that moments of anguish and loss can make you feel desperate and isolated. I’ve come to realize that in the midst of emotional traumas, travel can be a form of self-help to heal the mind and soul.
▫️
Travel as a form of mental health treatment has been a theory explored and proven to be true time and time again by those who have embarked on a journey and returned with clarity. No; this is not to say that travelling will provide a “cure” or absolve you of reality, but it is definitely a way to step back, distract the mind and stimulate the soul with appreciation!
▫️
Breaking out of a familiar, repetitive routine and stepping outside of your comfort zone can bring about extraordinary changes! Seeing first hand how others live can also help you gain some perspective and view the world differently. If you’re considering a longer trip, culture shock and learning to adapt to change can also be life altering. Travelling has the potential to teach us about patience and appreciation, and allow us to grow and expand our minds beyond our imagination! No matter the distance or destination, a change in scenery and routine can be a healthy step in the direction of healing and finding yourself💫
▫️
So, whether you’re going through a heartbreak or dealing with changes in your life that have proven difficult and draining, why not seize the opportunity and embark on something meaningful?! Consider it your chance to experience that “Eat, Pray, Love” moment🤍The world is vast and, if we allow it, ready to offer us whatever we are seeking🧳🛫

Let’s talk about Dubai!

This wonder is the Capital City in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This is where high-end style meets old world charm. This City offers the best of the best of literally anything your heart desires.
💫
Dubai was built primarily from oil revenue, which played a key part in accelerating the City’s development. Today, the City continues to thrive off of tourism and real estate, and attracts visitors and workers from around the world.
💫
The palm islands along the coast of Dubai are made up of three artificial islands; (yes-man made islands shaped perfectly like palm trees 🤯) Palm Jumeirah, Deira Island and Palm Jebel Ali. The islands hold luxurious private residences and hotels. It is situated on the Persian Gulf and is a hot spot for international tourists.
💫
The City has a vast variety of other entertainment and focal points outside of the Palms, including luxury shopping in the Dubai Mall, modern architecture like the Burj Khalifa and lively nightlife. If you want to tone down the posh and get a sense of culture, Dubai has several beautiful mosques that permit entrance for purposes other than worship. The souks are a great place to mingle and bargain with locals and get your hands on some spices, gold and other souvenirs. Gastronomic tours are also an amazing option in the City for my foodies! From taking a night dinner cruise down the persian gulf, to viewing the City from the world’s tallest building, Dubai is a world class destination worthy of experiencing! 🔮

🚨Travel Smart🚨
▪️
As for most, planning a vacation is one of my favourite things to do. It gives us something to look forward to and be excited about! However, part of planning a great trip is to incorporate the proper safety elements to protect yourself, your loved ones and your money. Here are some ways to make sure you are travelling smart and safe:
▪️
Travel Insurance:
Many people opt out of travel insurance and regret it later on. Planning is great, but it can only go so far. Life is unpredictable and having insurance is definitely the smartest way to ensure you don’t incur extra costs on things that are out of your control. Travel Insurance can cover:
✔️compensation for flight delays, cancellations or missed connections
✔️hotel stays and meals due to the above
✔️compensation for delayed / missing luggage
✔️last minute itinerary changes
✔️medical costs for sudden illness or injury while on vacation
✔️backing out of trips due to terrorism, war, disease or natural disasters
▪️
In addition to private insurance companies, you can also check if your credit card offers insurance. Remember that in order to be covered under your credit card, you must book your trip on that card as well. Also- this will usually only cover the card holder and any supplementary users. Check with your bank for more details.
▪️
Registering Online as a Citizen Abroad:
This is a super important one, and surprisingly many people don’t know about this option. Many countries have a government website for people to register themselves when they travel abroad.
This registration service enables government officials to contact you or your designated contact person in the event of a local/international emergency. Before you leave your home country, be sure to check the following off your to-do list:
✔️register yourself on the government website
✔️leave a detailed itinerary with contact details with family and friends
✔️carry contact information for government offices in the country you plan to visit
✔️always know where the closest embassy is

Some countries have started reopening their borders and welcoming tourists. Even though every part of me wants to do a happy dance- I have to emphasize that most government officials are still advising against “non-essential” international travel.

An old city located📍Northwest of Madrid in Spain; so picturesque and full of history😍 Segovia has the highest concentration of Romanesque churches and pedestrian only streets in all of Europe ⛪️
▪️
Declared a World Heritage Site by in 1985, this City is surrounded by a medieval wall and two rivers. Segovia is rich in architectural legacies and has more than 160 granite arches; most still in its original state. Apart from its overall beauty, it’s mostly known for three main landmarks:
🏰the Roman Aqueduct - situated mid-town and the best preserved aqueduct in the City. It lacks legible inscription, but is believed to have been constructed between 98-117 AD.
🏰The Segovia Cathedral - one of the last gothic-style Roman Catholic churches to be built during the mid-16th century.
🏰Alcazar Castle - otherwise known as the Segovian Fortress. Another World Heritage Site by , Alcazar is a medieval castle and one of the most distinctive palaces in Spain known for its shape - the bow of a ship 🚢. Alcazar was originally built as a fortress, and has historically served as a royal palace, state prison, Royal Artillery College and military academy. This marvel also served as inspiration and the template for Disney’s Cinderella’s castle.
▪️
Segovia continues to hold it’s medieval aura and preserves many of it’s original architecture and structures, taking it’s inhabitants and tourists back in time with every step👣
▪️
Have you been to Segovia⁉️🇪🇸 It’s a definite must-see💛

As we see Europe begin to lift lockdowns and ease up on travel bans, it triggers questions on how airports globally will control physical distancing once international and domestic air travel resumes.

✈️

One of the mechanisms being explored is integrating airport technology as a physical distancing solution. Technology currently used in major airports around the world aims at tracking real-time and predictive passenger density using heat sensors to prevent overcrowding.

✈️

New online tools such as pre-booking check-in time slots rather than waiting in line will also help control passenger flow and enable monitoring at entry points and gates to avoid congestion.

✈️

These tracking tools will be able to monitor crowds and spaces to prompt airport staff to take necessary precautions if distancing limits are not being followed. The goal is to enable proactive planning to reduce crowding and ensure safer travels 🧳 🌎

The debate continues over whether physical distancing will ever be fully achieved at airports and air planes, and whether these long-term changes are even economically sustainable. Stay tuned my friends...there’s a light at the end of the tunnel 🙌🏼🔜🗺

I think what I miss the most is being able to wander about and marvel at the people, the architecture and the hustle and bustle of a new place.

The excitement of learning the culture of places travelled is something intangible and difficult to explain. The fascination that comes with being a tourist and the things learnt along the way fills my heart with joy.

I long for the day we can move about freely and embark on discoveries our world has to offer!

Where’s the first place you’ll visit when the dust settles? 🌎🗺👣
