Pick up at your Nairobi hotel 7-8 am. Please allow for Nairobi traffic! Depart for the Maasai Mara Game Reserve via the magnificent viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley. Settle into your accommodations (Miti Mingi or Sopa Lodge) and have lunch. Leave at 4:30 for your 1st game drive! You will track various animals and birds with Ambrose. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.
Campers will stay at Miti Mingi Eco Lodge and Lodgers will stay at Sopa Lodge Maasai Mara, or AA Lodge Maasai Mara , subject to availability
After breakfast, embark on a full day of game viewing within the Masaai Mara Reserve. The landscape here is scenic savannah grassland on rolling hills, dotted by majestic Acacia trees. The reserve is the best park for game in Kenya as it has an extensive road and track network which allows for close-range viewing and photography. Break for your picnic lunch at the hippo pool, looking out for the hippos and crocodiles. Keep an eye out for The Big 5! Dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.
Day 3: Maasai Mara to Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, leave for a 1 1/2 hour game drive or visit the Maasai Mara village. The Maasai tribe are some of the nicest people and are very happy to host you and show you their village. We then depart for Lake Naivasha arriving in time for lunch. Rest of the day is at your leisure. Boat ride on the Lake with guide is available at extra cost. Lake Naivasha is famous for their pink flamingos. Or Ambrose can drive you to town of Naivasha to have coffee, sight-see, or shop.
Campers will stay at Taphe Resort and Lodgers will be at Sopa Lodge Lake Naivasha.
Day 4: Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru.
After breakfast, we will tour Hell’s Gate National Park. The Park has attractions like the Olkaria and Hobley, two extinct volcanoes. The obsidian formed from the cool molten lava. Within Hell’s Gate is the Hell’s Gate Gorge, lined with red cliffs which contains two volcanic plugs: Fischer’s Tower and Central Tower. Central Tower is a smaller gorge that extends ro the south and of which a path descends into hot springs. Depart for Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch. Lake Nakuru is referred to as Pink Lake because of the thousands of pink flamingos. Many other birds call this home and Lake Nakuru is a bird watchers paradise. There is also a rhino sanctuary.
Campers will have the afternoon at their leisure. Lodgers will have an afternoon game drive. The Lodgers have a game drive included because the Lodge is INSIDE the park. Campers may join the game drive for 60USD. Dinner and overnight in your hotel or Lodge
Campers will stay at City Max Hotel and Lodgers will be at Lake Nakuru Lodge.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru to Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, enjoy a game drive in Lake Nakuru Park. The Park contains a sanctuary for the conservation of the white rhino, while species like Cape Buffalo and Waterbuck can be seen near the shoreline. Drive to Amboseli National Park, having lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight at your Lodge.
Campers and Lodgers will stay at Kibo Lodge.
Day 6: Full day in Amboseli National Park
A full day of game viewing. Amboseli contains swamp grounds in which elephants and hippos bathe in abundance. A variety of Plains game, antelope and birds can be seen, as well as Mt. Kilimanjaro (weather permitting). We will have a picnic lunch in the shade. Dinner and overnight at Kibo Lodge.
Day 7: Amboseli to Nairobi
Early morning game drive, then back to Lodge for breakfast and checkout. Drive to Nairobi with lunch en route. Drop off in Nairobi can be at NBO airport or your hotel.
We should be back in Nairobi around 4pm, depending on traffic. Most flights back to Europe depart late in the evening.
