Losing someone is an indescribable pain and we want to encourage our military family to use the outdoors, travel, and recreation as pathways that can support your healing journey.

Here are some ways to find comfort and connection today:

🌲 Take a nature walk or hike: Being in nature helps clear the mind and provides a sense of grounding. Bring along a journal to write down memories of your loved one or thoughts that come to you along the way.

🌊 Visit a meaningful or scenic place: Whether it’s a quiet beach, a mountain overlook, or a favorite spot of your loved one, being there can foster reflection and connection.

🛶 Try an outdoor activity: Kayaking, paddleboarding, or even just tossing a ball around can be a healthy way to channel emotions and create moments of peace.

🎒 Plan a trip in their honor: Organize a visit to a place they always wanted to go or somewhere you’ve always dreamed of. Dedicate the experience to their memory.

🤝 Gather your community: Organize a small group for an outdoor gathering or service project to support others who may also be grieving. The act of helping can be healing.

Live A Great Story

On this day, 14 years ago, “The enemy initiated a daylight attack with hand gr***des, one of which landed inside their sandbagged position. Without hesitation and with complete disregard for his own safety, Lance Cpl. moved toward the gr***de in an attempt to shield his fellow Marine from the deadly blast. When the gr***de detonated, his body absorbed the brunt of the blast, severely wounding him, but saving the life of his fellow Marine.”

Almost four years later, he received the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions that day. Kyle, you are inspiring to all of us!

World toilet day! 😄 🤣 😂

Sittin' on a "groover" taking care of Business while on a Colorado rafting trip! Definitely an experience...

But did you know that nearly 2 billion people still don't have access to facilities such as toilets.

We often overlook the "bathroom experience" when traveling, but it can be incredibly eye opening!

From the sophisticated Bidets to the hole in the floor, flush with a bucket-type toilets. Doing business looks different when you travel!

Perspective is a Passport or Prison

I have an immense amount of gratitude coming home from Nicaragua because I was getting back to a life of "plenties."

Nicaragua and many other destinations are countries embedded with the perceived "lesses" in comparison to America.

I am grateful to have...
- Electricity
- Running water
- Solid shelter
- Accessible groceries
- And more....

But I dont see Nicaragua as having less. I see Nicaragua as having MORE. More community, more connection with their food, more natural and unspoiled wonders, more joy in the simple, often ignored aspects of life.

I'm grateful for experiencing MORE of Nicaragua and recognizing the LESS I need back home to be happy and fulfilled.

This. Is what travel is all about - PERSPECTIVE.
