The planning has started for an event filled weekend to celebrate 150 years of Gunbower Township & 100 years of the Gunbower Soldier’s Memorial Hall

We are seeking the help and input from the community to pull together a truely fantastic group of events!!!

We are looking for local brides and debutantes from across the last 150 years who would love to showcase their special dresses.

If you have your special dress and would be happy for it to be on display Please get in touch 🙏🏼

Other items we are looking for:
- photos of local events between 1974 & 2024
- local stories of families & events between 1974 & 2024
- favourite family recipes to shared in a local recipe collection
- old cars, tractors & trucks to display across the weekend

We are also looking for helpers and volunteers. If you’d like to be involved please attend an upcoming meeting.

Today the Gunbower & District Development Group had the pleasure of catering for a wonderful event at Zoe’s Little Flower Farm located at Circle T Farm in Gunbower.

The Wild Flower Australia conference was a great opportunity to show off the beautiful flower farm created by Zoe McNair & John Toll.

150 conference attendees enjoyed slices, cakes & sandwiches prepared by the G&DDG team members and to say they were impressed is an understatement! My favourite comment of the day was “oh my goodness that’s a real sponge cake!”

The secondary benefit of such a successful day is that all proceeds from the catering goes back into the Gunbower community.

A big thank you to the volunteers of the day and to the entire group for their contribution with a special thank you to Jeanette Cowan for leading the team and organising all the details of the day.

Morning G&DDG,
Did anyone make it to the Campaspe Shire Eco Summit on Friday?
Unfortunately I was unable to attend.
Has anyone got any feedback or information about how the event went and any outcomes?

Dear Members,

Thank you to everyone that was able to attending the meeting this mornings.

There were a lot of great outcomes from the meeting including:
- a new look for the Gunbower & District Development Group (logo attached)
- a facelift for the current planters in Main St (new paint and planting)
- new infrastructure projects to write proposals for
- information gathering for the 150 years of Gunbower celebration in 2024
- and lots more

Further dicussions will continue around:
- community garden / meeting area at the Memorial Hall
- mural project at the Telstra exchange shed (Main St)
- a cookbook to accompany the 150 year celebration

We look forward to inviting new members to the group and getting new ideas on the table for discussion.

The next meeting will be held at Gunbower Family Hotel on a Tuesday night in a few weeks, date to be advised.
