FOUND KAYAK AND GEAR:
Melinda Cornell on Facebook says: "Kayak and gear found looking for owner

7/5/21 Monday around 12-1pm on the Quinebaug river near kozy corner restaurant on the Plainfield CT line, two friends & myself caught up to a man & woman couple also yaking down. We all spoke for roughly 10 mins until we hit a rapids point. The couple went ahead of us for the first rapids with no issues then they pulled into a still water spot before the bridge and second set of rapids. friends & I continue through the rapids and pass under the bridge loosing/passing the couple. We stopped a short distance after the bridge for 10 mins to dump water out of our kayaks. We seen the mans kayak upside down and gear floating down the river (very fast current) I managed to get the kayak and gear almost a mile down the river from the bridge were they lost it. I’m hoping to find the owner and return all gear. I did not want to leave it on a river bank due to there is no easy way to get to most parts of this river."

It keeps track of the Daily Streamflow Conditions

The best water flow is 300 - 800 cubic feet per second
Anything lower you will be scraping the bottom of the river and
anything above the river is very dangerous
