Is it just me who gets back from Disney World and finds that all other food is mediocre? Ha! I kid, but I really do LOVE to try alllll the things when I'm in my favorite place. This time I was able to partake in the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival and try a variety of items, as well as stopped for quick service for some tried and true favorites, along with a few new dishes. Let's dive into my review of them!
First up, each item from the booths in Epcot I sampled! It's important to note, this festival runs March-July(ish) so these items are not available year-round.
1) Taco Vampiro and a Passion Fruit Margarita from Jardin de Fiestas. So yummy! The taco with the salsa ranchera tasted just like a beef enchilada to me, and who doesn't love margaritas? Definitely a win here.
2) Seared Scallops with French Green Beans, Butter Potatoes, and Applewood Smoked Bacon from Northern Bloom. I will be honest, I am not a super big scallops person. I wasn't into them, but the rest of the dish was SO yummy! The sides mixed with the meat in the next review would have been amazing. If you like scallops you will love this, if not it may be one to pass on.
3) Beef Tenderloin Tips with Whipped Potatoes and Garden Vegetables from Northern Bloom. Yum yum yum. Everything about this dish was tasty. Like I said, much better than the scallops to me, and was a nice "home cooked" taste. Definitely recommend.
4) Beef Brisket Burnt Ends and Smoked Pork Belly Slider with Garlic Sausage, Chorizo, Cheddar Fondue and Pickle, and Frozen Lemonade with Firefly Blackberry Moonshine from Festival Favorites. Well y'all this is at the Festival Favorites booth for a reason! Absolutely delicious, probably one of my favorite orders from the WHOLE trip.
Get it get it get it!! 😍😍
5) 3 Daughters Pink Lemonade Hard Cider, Bold Rock Watermelon Hard Cider, and Blake's Hard Cider Triple Jam Cider from Cider House ordered as a flight. Each cider was very light and refershing. The pink lemonade was the best! Watermelon
was a bit champagne-y.
6) Herb-Crusted Spring Lamb with Marbled Potatoes and Spring Vegetables, and the Hibiscus Lemonade with Gin from Farmers Feast. NO. Just no. As my mom said "Lamb tastes like sweaty armpits" and she was right. 🤢 Even the sides were
disgusting. I would never try this again and do not recommend it. The drink was very good though!
7) Crawfish Etouffee with Andouille Sausage and Dirty Rice and a Bayou Cocktail from Magnolia Terrace. I 100% ate the whole thing right up, did not waste a bit. As for the cocktail, both thumbs down, which came as a surprise for me. I normally love all things rum but this one taste a bit like mouthwash mixed with the taste of how burnout smells? 🥴
Point being: it was not good.
That wraps up all of my Epcot finds! Moving on...
8 )The Grand Breakfast from the Grand Floridian Cafe at the Grand Floridian Resort. Basically your standard Disney breakfast/brunch plate, filling and tasty. Especially the cheesy casserole! Don’t forget to pair it with one of their yummy mimosas, it's a perfect brunchy location and menu.
9) Baked Macaroni with Pulled Pork from Flame Tree BBQ in Animal Kingdom. This is one of my favorite quick service dishes in all of WDW. Who doesn't love mac and cheese and bbq?? This girl definitely does. Gooey and melty and rich
and just overall perfect!
10) Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich with Nutella from Sleepy Hollow in Magic Kingdom. Okay first things first, this bad boy is HUGE. Do not order one per person, you can absolutely share it. That said, is really is yummy. The waffle is a "real waffle" as opposed to the Mickey waffles you find almost everywhere else, fruit is fresh and Nutella is rich.
Overall a good sweet and filling breakfast, I woud definitely recommend some coffee or juice to cut through how sweet it can be after a few bites.
11) Shrimp & Andouille Mac & Cheese and a Margarita from The Boathouse in Disney Springs. First thing you need to know is that this restaurant is one of the nicest in all of WDW with amazing service and everything tastes good. Beautiful more upscale location, so I personally would not take my kids being on the pricy side as well as the
more upscale side. That said, for adults it is excellent! Great portion sizes (definitely could save leftovers if you wanted to) and delcious, every bite was perfect. Also I don't think I have ever met a margarita I didn't like.
(P.S. great steak here too! Cooked to perfection and tender.)
12) Totchos from Woody's Lunch Box in Hollywood Studios. Another one of my favorite quick service meals! They are a mix of tater tots and nachos and are perfect. There isn't much to say other than- just get it!
13) Ronto Morning Wrap from Ronto Roasters in Hollywood Studios. Ronto Roasters is a great quick service stop for breakfast or lunch and this wrap comes in a "breakfast version" as well as a "lunch/dinner version." Instead of a tortilla they use pita bread and all combined it makes a pretty good meal. I felt full but not stuffed and the taste is good. Pair it with a Tatooine Sunset (tea, lemonade, and fruit flavors) for a complete meal!
