My fellow travelers, new policy for all guest going to Grand Turk. It’s a long read filled with good information. This is mainly for my Carnival cruisers but all cruisers should be aware of the changes.

Dear Travel Partner,
The Turks & Caicos Islands Government, the Grand Turk Cruise Center (GTCC) and Carnival Corporation have reached agreement on new guidelines for public access to the GTCC facilities which reflect the shared desire for residents to continue to enjoy the facilities as well as provide a safe and secure environment for guests, GTCC employees and the Grand Turk community who are visiting. By promoting a family-friendly atmosphere, these guidelines will also maintain the popularity of Grand Turk with cruise guests, support local businesses and foster a welcoming and business-friendly environment for food, beverage, shore excursion, and retail partners. This policy will be effective on Thursday, August 15th.

Effective on Thursday, 15th, visitors from the community will be asked to follow
new guidelines and procedures to access the Grand Turk Cruise Center (GTCC):

During operating hours (when a ship is in port), access to GTCC by the public is only granted to individuals who obtain a one-day identification (ID) badge.
Access will be by the main entrance and will be free of charge.
An ID badge will be issued to each individual at the GTCC’s main entrance guard gate.
Individuals 18 years and older must present a valid form of government ID.
Individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult with a valid form of government ID.
The ID badge will be issued by officers of the GTCC at the main entrance. Individuals who have violated the code of conduct of the GTCC will be denied entry.
Any individual on the GTCC premises without an ID badge will be asked to leave immediately and will be referred to law enforcement.

Each individual seeking entrance must acknowledge and adhere to the Code of Conduct while at the GTCC:

Visitors to the GTCC shall not engage in ANY business activities within the port. No sales or solicitation of any kind are permitted. Only tour operators approved by the GTCC, and with official tours sold by the cruise lines, can conduct business on port premises.
No illegal activity will take place at the port. This includes but is not limited to narcotics sales or use, theft or attempted theft, assault or threats of assault.
Visitors to the GTCC shall not interfere in work activities of GTCC employees or licensed tour operators in good standing with GTCC.
Visitors to the GTCC shall not pose a public nuisance that interferes with GTCC employees, guests, or licensed tour operators. A public nuisance is defined but not limited to the obstruction of the public right of way of pedestrian passage, or any act that endangers the morals, comfort level of the public, or obstructs the enjoyment of rights common to all.
No weapons of any kind are allowed, which include but are not limited to firearm(s) or knife(s).
No use of abusive, offensive, threatening language or behaviors.

Any violations of the above will result in removal from the GTCC property and the revocation of the ID badge by GTCC officers. Violators will also lose the ability to obtain an ID badge for a minimum of three months or higher depending on the severity of the violation.

Commenting on the revised Standard Operating Procedures, the Honourable Charles Washington Misick, Premier of the Turks & Caicos Islands, stated that “the Government’s role is to ensure that those with access to the facilities at the Grand Turk Cruise Center – be they cruise passengers, tour operators, vendors, and visitors to the port – have an enjoyable experience. The Government is committed to working with Grand Turk Cruise Center to improve service delivery so that the destination remains competitive, whilst ensuring safety, and providing sustainable economic opportunities.”

Providing a safe and secure environment for guests to visit any destination is the joint responsibility of the operator, law enforcement and the government as well as the community at large. We expect these new procedures will ensure the welcoming atmosphere we so value in Grand Turk.

Good afternoon my fellow travelers!!! I wanted to give my final travel report on MSC yesterday but the travel world stood still and I felt that maybe it wasn’t a good time. Now that things are moving along again, I will give some info about the final day, entertainment, debarkation, and the Amtrak train ride home.

Let’s begin with the Bahamas (it was hotttttt) and full of cruisers. The new port is 100% complete now and is beautiful. There was about four or five other ships in port with us. A few spots you have to visit near the port is the rum cake factory for the best rum cake made in front of you (samples too). Next is 700 wine & spirits duty free for the best liquor prices. The final spot near the port is the bearded clam for some good food and shots on the wheel (best price for multiple shots). Lots of money being made for the Bahamian people if they are willing to make a deal. Dinner was exceptional as always and MSC put on a dinner show like Carnival and Royal Caribbean but MSC show was only on the last day. The last day meal was a full on Italian smorgasbord with all the best Italian flavors. I wanted to try the octopus but I was too scared. I chickened 🐣out ok. Mannn, yall can be so mean 😂. Since we had dinner with a show, let’s get to the entertainment.

The final show on MSC was the best show. It was titled “Circus”. It had all the best music, lighting, stunts, and movement. I was thrilled the whole time and not once did I fall asleep. Time to stop and grab a drink (old fashioned) before heading to the comedy show. The comedian had a good adult comedy show. He learned his lesson (maybe) about stereotyping and talked about things going on in his life and events of the world. There were a few cruising events that he could have turned into funny subjects but it was a missed opportunity.
Oh well, onto debarkation

MSC and Royal Caribbean have the best debarkation so far. Carnival is trying but my fellow Carnival cruisers don’t have the patience to leave smoothly. We were on the 13th floor to eat buffet breakfast. By the way, I had some ziplock bags with me so I put bacon, sausage links, croissants, and muffins in them for the train ride. On that note, since we had the drink package, we stocked up on waters and Red Bull for the train ride. We had one of the Buckees cooler bags with ice packs with us to keep our food and drinks cold coming and going. Anyways, going from the 13th floor to the debarkation floor was easy since everyone followed the rules and did not crowd the areas. Once off, we found our luggage and it was onto the ride share area for Lyft to take us to the train station. Lyft was inexpensive too and cheaper than Uber. Once again the Amtrak train ride was comfortable and better than the ride to Miami. We were on a newer, cleaner train with even more room. I relaxed, slept, and snacked my way to South Carolina. I would have had more pics of some of the stops if I didn’t fall into a comfort coma. The end of a great Amtrak train ride and MSC cruise has come to an end. I will definitely cruise on MSC again and will ride the train to Miami and/or Orlando without hesitation. Enjoy the pics and videos!!!

Hello again fellow travelers! We spent two days at Ocean Cay. The first day on Ocean Cay, we went to the beach party and light house show. I wish we could lay on the beach at night but they wanted all passengers back on board by 1045 pm. Once back on board though, the party moved to the lido deck where I lost the limbo contest. Limber kids beat stiff adults again, lol. Enjoy a few more pics from Ocean Cay day two along with some more food pics from dinner.

Good afternoon fellow travelers! MSCs Ocean Cay is their private island like Royal Caribbeans Coco Cay or Carnivals new spot Celebration Key. The main difference is, Ocean Cay doesn’t have the water slides but it has plenty of beaches to relax on. There are plenty of bars, restrooms, lounge chairs, and buffet spots to visit. It doesn’t matter which beach you are on, they all have buffet and bars waiting for you. The light house show was beautiful and the light house bar is the best bar to visit, if you go to Ocean Cay. The light house bar makes great drinks, has the light house show, and the bar gives out special chocolate and dumplings. Speaking of food, let’s talk more about the restaurant.

The breakfast at the sit down restaurant on MSC is the worst (except the brunch) so if you miss breakfast, you didn’t miss anything. If you have to eat breakfast, go to the buffet because it is much better. The lunch is still good and the dinner is where MSC shines. The sit down restaurant and the buffet are both good at dinner. Entertainment shows on MSC is a combination of the sit down and buffet breakfast, bad and good respectively.

The performances show on day two was a dedication to Elvis and they didn’t choose the best songs. The show was bland and put me to sleep. The family comedy show on the third day was excellent but the adult show was terrible and controversial. The comedian did too many stereotypical jokes about black people. It made us look bad to the other cultures. The other cultures may already have a bad idea of how the black culture is but he didn’t have to feed into their thoughts. Anyway, not sure if I’ll see his final show, I’ll decide later. Enjoy some of these pics and I’ll put the light house video in reels.

Good morning fellow travelers, I’d figure I’d give some more updates before I go to the bar. So far, MSC has the best dinner. I’d hate to throw shade but MSC dinner and brunch is better than Carnival and Royal Caribbean. The quality of food not quantity is what has made it better. Presentation is nice but that isn’t what I care about, it’s the taste and texture. Onto the entertainment.
The sail away party is almost as good as Carnival and better than Royal Caribbean. MSC has a lively entertainment squad and a big dance area by the pool. MSC Magnifica has this area but I don’t know if it’s the same on all of their ships. So far, MSC has a different production show the first two days, which were ok, but no comedy show. There is a series of comedy shows (family and adult) scheduled for today and no production show scheduled at all. There is one club on the Magnifica and it’s awkwardly next to the kid clubs. The DJ kept announcing that the club is 18 or over with security constantly sweeping the underaged teens out. Hip hop music didn’t start till about 1130pm so keep that in mind. There are also loads of lounge areas with different themed music for enjoyment and areas to dance at them. Surprisingly, there are a lot of Latin dance hall music and the sports bar plays country music. All the music is with a live band when the venue is chosen as the designated party area. Time to enjoy some more of Ocean Cay. I’ll have an additional update to talk about the Cay later today. Enjoy a few pics and I’ll add the sail away video to reels.

Good evening fellow travelers. The bar service on MSC has been excellent, which has caused me to post updates later than expected. Anyways, onto embarkation, which was the easiest I have experienced on any cruise so far. Once you have completed the process online or on the app, you will receive a fast track symbol and they will scan the barcode on your phone and view your passport. You can set up a spending account at guest services, once on the ship, if you haven't used a credit card. After that, you are free to go to your room and drop off your carry-ons and pick up your stateroom card(s). While other cruise lines allow this (sometimes), MSC encourages it. Your luggage will be dropped off later, just like on other cruise lines, so go enjoy the ship and your drink package, if you have one. However, please note that you cannot bring any outside drinks onto the ship.

Good morning, fellow travelers! Let's embark on an adventure with MSC cruise line, which I've been eager to experience for some time. I'll share my vacation experience with you and provide insights into what to expect during embarkation day and the first day of the cruise.
The first big experience was the ride on Amtrak from South Carolina to Miami. It’s about a 16 hour ride with frequent stops in other cities like Savannah, Tampa Bay, Orlando, etc…. The worst part of the train ride was the delay getting to our initial stop. My family and I had a one hour delay at first and as we parked ready to board at the designated time, we kept getting delays. At first it was thirty minutes, then another thirty minutes, then it was 15 min till the clock struck two hours later. Once on though, it was straight comfort. Lots of room for yourself and your significant other. Comfortable seats that recline back with leg and feet rests. The train has WiFi and restrooms in every car. The closer you are to the diner car, the stronger the WiFi. Bring your own food and drinks because the prices are ten fold on most items. For example, a noodle cup is 52 cents at Wally World and almost $4 on the train, for the same cup of noodles. Bring your own because you can get hot water from the diner cart and it’s free. Besides a few train turbulence that is unavailable, it’s the best way to go. I can party all night and not have to worry about driving until after 16hrs of a train ride. Well, I’ve been drinking since I got on the ship and was happy to put this message out. Till sometime this evening, Reason2GoTravel, LLC crew, out.
