Finally, we are done with 2020!

It was a year of mixed emotions for me. I was devastated that my clients all had to cease travel and postpone bucket list trips due to Covid-19. I was overjoyed to welcome my son into the world and I have been afforded a lot more time at home with him because of Covid-19.

I was reading through old emails and came across one on gratitude/what I am thankful for. I think it is still true today so I want to share it:

I am thankful for my passport. It seems like such a simple thing to be thankful for but if I didn't have this little book, I would not be able to experience the world the way I do. Having the ability to cross borders into new countries and cultures to see amazing sights, sounds and tastes. Had I never gotten a passport back in 2000 to spend a semester in Europe, I don't know that I would be sitting where I sit each day. I thoroughly enjoy working with my clients to plan their travel experiences.

That being said, I look forward to helping my clients get to those bucket list destinations that they have been waiting to experience when it is safe to do so in 2021 and 2022!

When you travel, you have to be prepared for anything! We were supposed to meet our ship today in Kirkenes. Due to bad storms, she couldn't make it up so we are driving to Alta, Norway to meet the ship! We are spending part of the day on the coach but we get to go through Finland hopefully. I think it is a perfect change since I just bought this hat in Oslo! I will have hit all four countries in 90 days!

The Arlanda Express is the most efficient & environmentally friendly way to get to and from the airport! 350 SEK ($37) is the cost for two sharing a ticket each way!

I took two trains and a bus to get to the Lakes District! It was a chilly day but nothing a Minnesotan cannot handle. Such a fun memory to look back on.

Travel Tip: When visiting an attraction, go early!

The lines will be shorter and therefore will be less people walking through the attraction/site with you so it creates a more enjoyable experience!

I noticed a bigger crowd about 1 - 2 hours after the castle opened up for visitors when I was there.

We had a lovely evening tonight at Utzon Center to bid a very fond farewell to our time in Aalborg. We had an amazing meal and the staff were fantastic making sure we were all well taken care of! TAK!

This evening, as part of our farewell, we were invited to join the Christian IV's Guild. Shots were fired, cannons were ignited, many jokes were made and a lot of fun was had!
