If winter weather has your travel plans snarled ... you need to know your rights.
Airlines have cancelled thousands of flights since Friday ... and the next day or two probably won't be any better.
Some tips to help:
Download your airline's app to track your flight and get real time updates.
Carry your toiletries, meds and a change of clothes in your hand luggage in case your checked bag doesn't make it to your destination.
If you can travel with just carry on luggage, you're in a better position to fly standby.
Get to the airport earlier than usual and be kind to the agents. Remember, THEY DIDN'T CREATE THE WEATHER!
Know what other airlines fly your route so if your flight is canceled, your airline can help rebook you on another carrier.
If you can wait a few days, then wait. Airlines are offering waivers.
If you're flying on an EU carrier, the airline is required to compensate you ... US carriers are not.
If you're a member of an airline club, take advantage of the showers if you're stuck at the airport.

If you're driving ...
Get air in your tires. You lose PSI with every 10 degree drop in temps.
Keep your gas tank full.
Have an emergency kit in the car complete with medications, snacks, water, blankets and flares.
Travel safe, my friends!

Travel Tip Tuesday!
Take a power strip or power block with you when you head out of town. It will save you when the hotel doesn’t have enough outlets for all your devices. I love the ones that have space for my USB cables and are also power adapters for international trips.
