The National Mounted Warrior Museum is officially unlocking their doors to the public and welcoming you all at 10 a.m. Sept. 19!
Discover local and military history through the eyes of the mounted Soldier. With full scale vehicle dioramas and a beautiful setting, we think you'll find it was worth the wait!
For those curious, they put together a Frequently Asked Questions section for their upcoming opening:
Q.) Is there an admission fee to visit the museum?
A.) General admission to the National Mounted Warrior Museum is free to the public.
Q.) Do I need identification or a visitor’s pass to visit the museum?
A.) The National Mounted Warrior Museum is located outside the Fort Cavazos gate. Identification or visitor’s passes are not necessary to visit the museum. They are required, however, if you wish to visit Fort Cavazos.
Q.) Is the museum accessible to visitors who require accommodations?
A.) Yes. The museum is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Please visit the visitor’s desk for assistance. Please note that there will be some special effects to include lighting and sounds.
Q.) Are you going to have low sensory days?
A.) Yes, we will have low sensory days in which lights and volumes will be adjusted for those with sensitivities.
Q.) Can schedule a tour?
A.) Tours will begin in October 2024. Due to space limitations, large groups will be broken into smaller groups. Stay tuned to their page for information when they are ready to launch the tour program.
