Weligama Beach It feels like Weligama’s been selected as the next go-to spot on the south coast. It has an abundance of eateries and places to stay, and the only sky-rise hotel on the entire south coast. We’re inclined to tell you to skip the skyscraper accommodation and opt for something more boutique, like Cape Weligama, W15, or Ceylon Sliders.

Instead, walk straight to the back of the cafe, toward the beach, where you’ll find an elevated, small seating area (pictured) that makes it feel like you’re brunching in a lifeguard tower.
