When small businesses prosper, their employees and communities flourish!

What an incredible honor to be invited to The White House to advocate for small businesses.

Along with 30 other businesses from Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah, the morning was spent in briefings and discussions key economic advisors, including U.S. Small Business Administration Isabel Guzman, U.S. Department of Treasury Deputy Secretary Wally Adeyemo, and the Senior Advisor to the President for Clean Energy Innovation and Implementation, John Podesta in discussions on critical issues such as capital access, cybersecurity, the impacts of natural disasters and support for small businesses in rural areas.

The afternoon was spent with the teams of Senator Michael Bennet(CO), Senator Ben Ray Luján (NM), and Senator Martin Heinrich (NM) discussing important legislation around small business advocacy such as:
*fostering a level playing field for small businesses
*Increasing equitable access to capital and opportunities for small businesses
*Bolstering a Main Street friendly workforce

State Senator Dylan Roberts, Representative Julie McCluskie and Congressman Joe Neguse's team were excellent resources in preparation for this event in helping to make sure I had a solid understanding of the current small business landscape and policies happening at the state level, but also in taking the time to listen to the challenges that face small businesses in rural Colorado!

Many thanks to Small Business Majority for the invitation and all your hard work and advocacy. A big Shout out to The Summit Chamber, Summit Economic Partnership , and Startup Colorado for helping to prepare for and support this event! Oh, and big props to the Ramada Frisco for helping with lodging!
