Have you been to the Revs Institute in Naples yet? It is more than a car museum with so much history to discover. Auto Trader recently named it the No. 5 best auto museum in the world and No. 1 in Florida. The latest exhibit features the Ford GT40, with the highlight the 1967 Ford GT40 Mark III, one of only seven ever constructed, on loan. And for this Indy Girl, seeing an Indy Car was a highlight!

We don't often think about taking LeeTran buses, but at $1.50 a ride...maybe we should. There are the standard buses that go from RSW to many places (Bell Tower, Edison Mall, Lovers Key, Times Square, etc) You can also take buses from numerous other locations all around Lee County. https://www.leegov.com/leetran But there is also something called the Ultra that is on your UBER app....it will take you from your home (if in the map areas) to anywhere on the map below. It is primarily for Bonita Springs and LeHigh Acres and is available 7 days a week 7 am to 6 pm

Stay tuned here…Global Entry Enrollment Center is coming to RSW soon! I have Global Entry and it works the same as TSA precheck in the US and reduces the time in customs sooo much if you travel internationally.

**Just to clarify-GE includes TSA precheck for domestic travel so you do not need to apply for both

Everglades Day Safari was a blast! The Airboat ride was so much fun, albeit cold! We navigated the lake, swamps, marshes of the Everglades. We saw an alligator and birds galore. Probably would have seen more alligators had it been a tad warmer. One more post on where to see great plays! The Florida Rep is another great venue to see plays in SW Florida! The larger theatre (The Arcade) was originally built as a vaudeville house in 1915. The Florida Rep took it over in 1998 after years of the building being dark. It seats 393 and is beautifully restored. The smaller theatre is ArtStage and seats 120. It's wonderful to go to see a play and then enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants in downtown Ft Myers. I recently saw A Sherlock Carol. What a delightful combination of the Christmas Carol and Sherlock Holmes; the way they weave these two classics together is so clever. This is playing through December 17th! Broadway Palms is one of many venues to see awesome plays and musicals in SW Florida. It has been entertaining guests for 30 years! It has 382 dinner theatre seats and if you go get the pineapple casserole! Each year the theatre produces 8 Broadway musicals and 5 smaller scale revues/comedies along with several children's productions. I went to see Elf, it was a 10! It is now playing through December 25th; I hope you will have an opportunity to go and see this! And enjoy some wonderful desserts too! Hurricane Ian...the beautiful Pink Shell Resort suffered damages on Ft Myers Beach...but THEY are back! They have 2 bedroom and 1 bedroom (both with an additional pull out couch) and Studio rooms and they ALL overlook the GULF! How cool is that? They have several restaurants on site and beautiful pools that are now open. They have day passes that include umbrellas, chairs, towels and pool access ($30 M-Th and $60 F-Sun). The 2 bedroom is the one we have pictures of including the spacious bathroom..on the 8th floor; what's not to love about that room!

We were privileged today to have a backstage tour at BB Mann Theatre. Rich in history and stories The Barbara B. Hickey Creek Mitigation Park consists of 862-acres and offers 5 miles of marked primitive hiking trails through several habitats. The creek is great for canoeing/kayaking. Guided hikes are offered the first Thursday each month (Sept. - May). Special refuge for Gopher Tortoises and many other species. Another beautiful park in Lee County, FL. Have you recently been to the Naples Botanical Gardens...oh my it is so beautiful! The garden spans 170 acres divided into seven distinct natural habitats...each with it's own unique flowers and plants. Some of those represent Brazil, Southeast Asia, the Caribbean and others. There is a beautiful orchid garden as well. Hours are 9-5 Daily and Adult tickets are $25.00 You should plan at least 2 hours to immerse yourself in this beauty.

It's been a bit of time, but we are back visiting great places! The Drury Inn is a family owned business with 160 hotels and growing. With each nights stay you are treated to both dinner (with 3 cocktails!) and breakfast. They have a pool, hot tub, exercise facility and more. They manufacture all of their own furniture in Tennessee, even their mattresses AND the furniture is put into executives of Drury Inn homes for them to try out first! They have free shuttle to and from the RSW airport. So when you have guests coming and you need more space...this comes highly recommended!

Hammond Stadium is a baseball field located in the CenturyLink Sports Complex in South Fort Myers, Florida. The stadium was built in 1991, and underwent major renovations in 2014 and 2015. The spring training home of the Minnesota Twins saw its seating capacity increased from 7,500 to 9,300 in the spring of 2015.

WOW! Have you heard about Jumping Jacks in Ft Myers ? What a great place to take kids to let out some energy! We visited last week and had a ball! It's an 11,000 sq ft that features large inflatable bounce houses, climbing tubes with fun slides, miniature rock climbing wall and a dedicated toddler area for the little guests. There is an arcade for older kids too! They have party party packages too. Take your kids or grandkids; this is so much fun!

Players Circle Theatre at the Shell Factory in North Ft Myers....is a place everyone should visit. I was there for the Ann Landers play (did you know she and Dear Abby were twins?) It's playing through Dec 18th. Other upcoming plays are "I Love You, You're Perfect...Now Change" (Feb 6-26), "The Cocktail Hour" March 14-April 2 and more! The theatre seats about 150 in the round providing Broadway-level entertainment. In addition, to the playhouse, there is a world of great activities with things for kids, live music throughout the week, a Christmas store open all year and more. Psst....the Lab Theatre in Ft Myers is currently showing "The Play That Goes Wrong" and it is absolutely hilarious! The Lab Theatre is in its 14th season of providing progressive theatre in a small venue. During the performance, a play within a play, a plethora of disasters befall the cast, including doors sticking, props falling from the walls, and floors collapsing. Cast members are seen misplacing props, forgetting lines, missing cues, breaking character, having to drink white spirit instead of whisky (paint thinner in the U.S. production), mispronouncing words, stepping on fingers, being hidden in a grandfather clock, and being manhandled off stage. And special note is Andrew Sarkozy is the lead, many of us know Carole his mom!
